He better be a great player with that $330M salary.
If this is an isolated incident, prison is excessive.. But, he should get his wish and never have any contact with the daughter. Go anywhere near her, and prison it is.
“He did more than that. And yes hitting a teen ager is never a parenting technique”
It’s never the first choice but nothing says “You’ve seriously crossed the line” like physical consequences. Especially with an out of control teen who wants to push your buttons.
Show the bruising or STFU.This sounds like a setup from the ex, but with Hamilton’s reputation, going to be hard to beat this rap.
“yep. kids call the cos on you nowadays if you take away their smartphones.”
When my oldest was 13 she got into an argument with my wife and when she didn’t get her way threatened to call social services. My wife told her “Fine, enjoy living in a foster home”. She never tried that again. Turns out the school was teaching kids to call SS on their parents.
He threw a full bottled water at her, hitting her in the chest while screaming at her.
That is abuse, not a spanking.
Children now belong to the State.
You are permitted to parent them as long as the State approves.
That said what I tell parents of out of control teenagers is to walk away from them.
They are a safety risk, they can call police, they can lie, they can tear apart lives and family. They are a financial risk as the courts drain monies. Teens are no longer worth fighting for... our culture has made it so.
Most come around, some are lost. It is better to be distantly cordial than to be arrested for parenting.
because she was vulgar and disrespectful.
Not the best choice.
But not everyone reacts like a 52 year old female white social worker.
That sends up a huge red flag....
Back around 2005 an employee at my plant was accused by his adolescent daughter's girlfriend of molesting her....
Of course he was arrested, arraigned and had to hire a lawyer. In the end, the girl had lied and admitted that the ex-wife put her up to it......
The ex-wife was a wack job and Andy had custody of the daughter......
So if your teenager is a smart ass abuse is ok. Nice to know what you are.
But not everyone reacts like a typical woman beater.
Looks like he's having trouble keeping his eyes open.
She pissed him off enough that he threw a plastic water bottle at her.
The horrors. (/s)
I have dealt with enough teenagers that I can sympathize with him.
Should be taken into account!
It’s his ex-wife who seems to have made the report.
He was not a good signing for Angels...
*****
Im just glad hes out of Texas. The guy has some serious issues.
The sequence of events and the dialogue sound very believable.
No Dad should be hitting a teen girl like that.
Not only violent but inappropriate. Let Mom discipline her.
!4 y.o. Girls are the worst. throw in an ex-wife and a divorce that cost him millions. I’m thinking no-contact is something he should talk to his therapist about and learn to live with it. Its a no win for another man in a divorce.
I never said it was ok.
I said that not everyone is a 55 year old social worker.
and there is a difference between being a smart ass teen and being a vulgar and abusive adultling.
stop minimizing.
In the same country where a person is arrested for felony abuse for throwing a waterbottle at a disrespectful and perhaps out of control child, women have their genitals excised, daily, children are put on puberty blockers, and children are abused by out of control peers in government schools.
He should divorce the daughter.
Let her know that he will pay child support until she is 18, and then she is completely on her own, and will not receive a penny from him, and is disinherited.
