Well, I’m old but I’m not 1943 old. But I have heard of them, yes.

Remember the Steagles?

I remember reading about them but I saw my first Stillers game in 1950 at Forbes Field.

I bought my first season tickets in 1966 for $21 {$3.00 per game, end zone, Pitt Stadium, no pre-season} aluminum seats, no backs, just a long metal bench.

I drank a few with "The Chief" in the basement of the old Roosevelt Hotel, which is where the Stillers had their headquarters for years before Three Rivers Stadium.

Art Rooney used to 'hang out' at one of his pal's bars in Homestead, just over the Hi-Level Bridge, but I cannot remember the name of the place.

It was a 'mill hunky' gin joint and used to get loads of steel workers and I have no idea if it's still around, but I'd doubt it.
