That should be a hard “NO”. Put the right import duties in place, and they’ll do their own supply chain revisions.
Sooner the better...
In-A-PIGS-ASS.
They moved over there. They want out, then they can spend their own money to get out. Or go broke.
We should pay for them to escape since they moved over there to take advantage of starvation wage labor?
Make sense to me...move needs to be started in a month, 50% finished by end of quarter and 95% finished by end of year.
They decided to use slave labor so the CEO can have 3 houses at the Hamptons so F them.
On the same train of thought, does anyone here have a list of manufacturers and their goods made here in the USA?? I work hard for my money, and I do not want to waste it lining the pockets of a bunch of communists who unleashed this mess on us.
No.
They chased the cheap labor there, they can pay their own way out.
No on simply bringing it “either back home or spread throughout southeast Asia”. I would want to see a requirement that, at minimum, 60% of production be moved to the US and stay there for at least 10 years. Allow them to spread some production globally, but most in the US. Not America only, but America first.
Those saying screw them, they left let’em pay their own way back....need to remember it was the US Government under Republican and Democratic Presidents who encouraged them to leave in the first place...
We allowed them into the WTO, gave the most favorable trade status, raised corporate taxes, we did everything but kick them out....
If we do nothing we will continue to allow our most serious threat since WW II to prosper...
The Soviet Union was a military threat during the Cold War but they were never an economic threat and eventually they couldn’t keep up and fell apart...
China is a totally different animal, they have the military or are willing to spend whatever is necessary to have a competitive military...
They have the economy, they have the technology, they have everything they need to dominate the world order....
The last thing we should be doing is to continue rewarding them for stealing our jobs...
Bring them home, if it requires what Larry Kudlow is talking about, get it done and do more if necessary.
100% expensing of moving costs eliminates TAXES on those costs, not the COSTS themselves.
Correct me if I’m wrong.
What would stop them from just using this money to move back here and then just move again?
How about lightening regulations and create incentives for patriots who wont sell out our nations soul to commies to build new industry here and let the traitors rot in the hell they created.
“the U.S. should pay the moving costs of every American company that wants out of China.”
Just keeping things in balance I guess. After all, Clinton, Bush and Obama literally paid companies to move to China. Moving out of country expenses were literally 100% tax write off here in the USA.
I say carrot and stick. Lower tax rates here to the lowest on earth. End the silly carbon/climate jihad. And then treat overseas production as 100% foreign and tariff the hell outta them. Add in a slave surcharge.
Let them decide where to be all on their own. Unpatriotic low life CCP excuse-making cheerleaders.
How about instead we 100% expense US companies that didn’t go global to expand here before paying some traitors to come back?
How is that fair to the US companies who DIDN’T go to China? Yes, there are still a few.
Paying their competitor to come home and build brand new infrastructure? BS.
Is the Maytag factory in Newton, Iowa still empty? Room for someone there, and I suspect, an eager work force who used to make Maytag machines for many, many years.
They’re going to move...to India.
