Very sad same protections given to employees seen by the public are denied those who are in the depth of the worst jobs, unseen.

https://www.mprnews.org/story/2020/04/12/smithfield-foods-announces-indefinite-closure-of-sioux-falls-plant-amid-covid19-outbreak

"As of Saturday, more than 230 employees had tested positive for COVID-19, out of a workforce of about 3,700 people — part of a growing coronavirus hotspot in Sioux Falls. South Dakota Gov. Can’t help but wonder if the breakout at the Smithfield facility has anything to do with it being China-owned.

At least the TP manufactures were able to increase their output by ~ 40%, so that shortage should be over in a month or two.

Just wait until all the meat in the supermarkets disappear while part of the manufacturing process is shut down.

The zoos will need to up their security.

I’m sure Rooters would, like every childless nag in the media, love to shut down every single food plant in the United States, and bring them back under communist rule direct from China. I’ve had it with the media and their complicity.

“At a Wayne Farms chicken processing plant in Alabama, workers recently had to pay the company 10 cents a day to buy masks to protect themselves from the new coronavirus, according to a meat inspector.”

Not sure if this is true but this kind of penny-pinching makes me wanna hurl.

> according to their union <

Yes, I know how corrupt unions can be. I could tell you a week’s worth of stories.

But this one area where unions are very useful, even vital. No one in management cares much about the safety of the workers. It’s a PR thing as much as anything else - I saw that first hand from working in a steel mill.

Throw out the illegals and AUTOMATE the effin plant!

That we have these processors run like this is rediculous.

Gov Neom on Fox, sidestepping and pitching the goobermint line.
Very disappointing.

The JBS plant in Greeley CO was made famous by the 2006 ICE raid that got 300 people.

There are a whole lot of Somalis working there now (just beef, no pork at this location), and I'd be more worried about things like tuberculosis than coronavirus.

The guy who died was 78, and still working.

The entire plant will be shut down starting tomorrow, for a thorough disinfecting.

In Colorado, nearly a third of the workers at a JBS USA beef plant stayed home amid safety concerns for the last two weeks as a 30-year employee of the facility died following complications from the virus.

Saul Sanchez, 78 years old.

What part of "co-morbidities" are the "jernalists" not understanding?   thinking face

Note that the two losers who wrote this article, Tom Polansek and Rod Nickel, didn't bother to provide us with the facts about Saul Sanchez.

Those crook bosses are causing a panic and driving up the prices of meat over the bodies of the workers they murdered by refusing in advance to make them safer while working with plenty of space, protective gear, etc. They’re begging for a divine Flubola plague and the end of this anti-American globalist paradigm.

We all knew that the epidemics were coming and caused by anti-American trade, tourism and migration policies.

After the recovery from all of this insanity—when its all settled down—stock up, folks! Don’t wait for another epidemic! And learn to start your own businesses for producing necessities and useful things on the side—not knick-knack shops. Food, tools, clothing,...manufacturing things like that on small scales. That’s what a real prepper does.

I mean how long has the government been talking about protective gear. Face mask are not expensive.. As an adult you should have your own face mask.. You don’t need your employer to give you those.. They will have a hard time getting them also.. The workers should not go to work when they are sick!!! I’ve been in the grocery stores and the checker will cough or sneeze blow their nose and I ask them are you sick? They say yea maybe. I say to them if your sick stay home. Your getting other people sick and some could die!

More likely the “elbow to elbow” transmission of COVID was spread in their 10 to a trailer living quarters.
