A few cruise missiles aimed at 3 Gorges would let lots of water flow freely.

China is evil.

1. Both China and India believe that their cultures are the best. Older isn't always better. We all know that.

2. China is the MOST sexist country in the world. They use to toss their female babies down the well. When amniocentesis came into being female fetuses were destroyed with impunity.
Wealthy men could always buy a wife but poor men HAD NO WOMEN TO marry. They were called the "bare branches."

Now, I'm sure, China has "righted that wrong." Suuuure.

3. China is THE FILTIEST country in the world. Yes, we were there and got the "best" they had. One of the worst moments was when I took a shower in our room in the Chinese hotel.
My husband had to stand there with a big towel (that we brought) to keep the cockroaches off of me while showering. The bathroom was "AWASH" with cockroaches. You KNOW I couldn't make that up.

.

THIS is the Chinese philosophy of all time:
Cleanliness COSTS. Filth is FREE.

Mexico could make the same claim about the Colorado river.

There was a time when the southwestern states fought about that.

You'll never guess who one of the attorneys for California was: Richard Nixon.

I came down the Mekong though Lous and Vietnam in February. It was the lowest the locals had ever seen it.

The locals were panning gold all along the Mekong as they could get in areas never panned before.

India is pretty close to 2nd on sexism. Where else are rape gangs allowed to roam freely? (Yes know about foreign Muslim rape gangs in the UK, Australia and much of the West)

Communist Party of China has become malignant. A huge cancer on the world. If not eradicated it will destroy its host like all cancers ultimately do.

Per the NYT article

But some countries, like Sri Lanka and Djibouti, have fallen into what critics fear are debt traps, as strategic projects end up in Chinese hands. Other African and Asian nations are worried that China is simply another imperial power eager to vacuum up natural resources without concern for the local populace.

Adding to the downstream pain were sudden releases of water from China, which often came unannounced and drowned crops that had been planted near the banks because of the drought.

A Jungle Airstrip Stirs Suspicions About China’s Plans for Cambodia

The Chinese military’s “string of pearls” strategy depends on far-flung regional outposts. Some think Cambodia is becoming one.

DARA SAKOR, Cambodia — The airstrip stretches like a scar through what was once unspoiled Cambodian jungle.

When completed next year on a remote stretch of shoreline, Dara Sakor International Airport will boast the longest runway in Cambodia, complete with the kind of tight turning bay favored by fighter jet pilots. Nearby, workers are clearing trees from a national park to make way for a port deep enough to host naval ships.

The politically connected Chinese company building the airstrip and port says the facilities are for civilian use. But the scale of the land deal at Dara Sakor — which secures 20 percent of Cambodia’s coastline for 99 years — has raised eyebrows.

Two years ago, the Cambodian military suspended joint military exercises with the Americans and began partnering with the Chinese instead. Then, in a further sign of deepening military ties, Mr. Hun Sen announced in July that he had spent $240 million on Chinese weaponry.

“If the U.S. Embassy, they don’t like us, they can pack up and leave,” Mr. Pay Siphan, the government spokesman, who is a dual Cambodian and American citizen, said in an interview. “They are troublemakers, and we see it when they look down on Cambodia.”
