What’s good for the goose can’t be bad for the gander. As any state’s unemployment rate rises as a result of shutdowns, proportionate layoff’s of government employees should be mandatory - elected officials and their appointees should fall on their swords first, and maybe a few state health officials for good measure. Trump should make the suggestion in a tweet or maybe a well timed executive order using his state of emergency powers.

Actually all of this financial problem has been lurking for a long time & took a long time to build up.

UNIONS got control of public workers.

UNIONS made outrageous contracts, where UNION workers have pensions & other benefits far above the average worker.

Did they do a different job? NO...

Did they worker HARDER? NEVER....

Now- the outrageous pensions have been eroding the state coffers for years. MANY state pension plans are teetering on bankruptcy.

Here comes a pandemic, and the earthquake of financial breakdown is happening.
