-—when I was young, two exprerssions were common-—”It’s a free country” and “There oughtta be a law”—unfortunately, the proponents of the second expression seem to dominate anymore —
I am forty or so days from my 76th, the expression,”It’s a free country”, was very common in my youth but I NEVER hear it now. Is it just that it faded away like many other sayings or have people realized finally that this is NOT a free country?
