“The governor added that if there’s no state aid, unemployment would likely double in America because a rash of public workers would lose their jobs.”

And, in turn, those laid off public workers would find it very hard to get a job in the private sector. Few, if any, private sector jobs would put up with employees who sit on their ass all day playing computer games and watching porno.

Everybody in NJ (who has a brain) knows it is all about the pension system that is a ticking time bomb. NJ is completely broke with a bloated government and billions in pension debt close to staggering $50 Billion.

“Open up now and get some tax revenues as people return to work, or we will watch you descend into the seventh layer of Hell, and laugh!”

I like the sound of that!
Reassuring.

When you have more people in retirement collecting more than they made when they were sort of working, you’re just going to have to go bankrupt.

I live in commiefornia and they can’t go bankrupt fast enough for me.

It’s true, unfortunately. My wife’s a “teacher” (now Guidance Counselor) who is still working at 28 years of service. Her big sister was a teacher in New Jersey who retired and moved down here some 20 years ago. New Jersey Pensions have been VERY generous.

Some states have ensured, thanks to provisions in their state constitutions, that discharging certain obligations through bankruptcy is not an option.

Our so-called public servants have protected their pensions and health bennies.

Something will have to give.

"And I don’t care what party you’re in."

Yeah, right.
