“ In teppe’s religion the god of this Universe worked his way to godhood. But teppe is not honest enough to acknowledge that is one of the tenets of moronism, er, mormonis. ”

It is my opinion, that many Mormons are probably embarrassed by the ridiculous doctrines of Mormonism. That might be why they generally don’t defend Mormon doctrine. So, my question would be, what exactly motivates them to spread this false religion?

And how did we get to talking about false religions, on a thread about North Korea? 😁

Strangely, after teppe told me never to post to her again, she pinged me to this thread. That’s how I got here.

Then she proceeded to attack Christianity, while pretending to be a victim and martyr.

Very strange, but it’s all on the thread above.

Anyway, I hope things are well in your world & life bro.

Sorry, but the name of our Church is ‘The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints’.

teppe; some folks may not know that wasn't ALWAYS named that.

I'm sure that you are aware of that; right?

The Church of Christ was the original name of the Latter Day Saint church founded by Joseph Smith.[1]
Organized informally in 1829 in New York and then formally on April 6, 1830, it was the first organization
to implement the principles found in Smith's newly published Book of Mormon,
and thus represents the formal beginning of the Latter Day Saint movement.

Later names for this organization included
the Church of the Latter Day Saints (by 1834 resolution),[2]
the Church of Jesus Christ,[3]
the Church of God,[3]
the Church of Christ of Latter Day Saints,[4][5]
and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (by an 1838 revelation).[6][7]

I; for one; find it strange that GOD didn't tell Joseph what the name should be from the getgo.

I am pleased to suffer your persecution and mockery for my beloved Savior and Redeemer, Jesus the Christ.

I'll have to inform you that the "persecution and mockery" you are feeling, have NOTHING to do with Jesus; but EVERYTHING to do with Joseph Smith.

As an illustration...

Matthew 5:11

Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

You see; you have NOT shown anything we 'say' about MormonISM to be FALSE.

You manage; quite well I might add; to put our motives and attitudes on trial; but the jury is reading the EVIDENCE we post on FR.

Claiming the prosecuting attorneys are mean to you will not get very far if you cannot defend against the CHARGES brought to light.

And I shall live with joy and love
In his eternal courts above.

Maybe you think this is true; but will you be in the FATHER's presence; in the Celestial kingdom?

Most Mormons will NOT be; according to published data.

The "Forever Family" picture that SLC paints for mass consumption, isn't what the reality is going to be.

https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/manual/gospel-topics/kingdoms-of-glory?lang=eng

There are three kingdoms of glory: the celestial kingdom, the terrestrial kingdom, and the telestial kingdom. The glory we inherit will depend on the depth of our conversion, expressed by our obedience to the Lord’s commandments. It will depend on the manner in which we have “received the testimony of Jesus” (Doctrine and Covenants 76:51; see also Doctrine and Covenants 76:74, 79, 101).

Celestial Kingdom

The celestial kingdom is the highest of the three kingdoms of glory. Those in this kingdom will dwell forever in the presence of God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ. This should be your goal: to inherit celestial glory and to help others receive that great blessing as well. Such a goal is not achieved in one attempt; it is the result of a lifetime of righteousness and constancy of purpose.

The celestial kingdom is the place prepared for those who have “received the testimony of Jesus” and been “made perfect through Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, who wrought out this perfect atonement through the shedding of his own blood” (Doctrine and Covenants 76:51, 69). To inherit this gift, we must receive the ordinances of salvation, keep the commandments, and repent of our sins. For a detailed explanation of those who will inherit celestial glory, see Doctrine and Covenants 76:50–70; 76:92–96.

In January 1836 the Prophet Joseph Smith received a revelation that expanded his understanding of the requirements to inherit celestial glory. The heavens were opened to him, and he saw the celestial kingdom. He marveled when he saw his older brother Alvin there, even though Alvin had died before receiving the ordinance of baptism. (See Doctrine and Covenants 137:1–6.) Then the voice of the Lord came to the Prophet Joseph:

“All who have died without a knowledge of this gospel, who would have received it if they had been permitted to tarry, shall be heirs of the celestial kingdom of God;

“Also all that shall die henceforth without a knowledge of it, who would have received it with all their hearts, shall be heirs of that kingdom;

“For I, the Lord, will judge all men according to their works, according to the desire of their hearts” (Doctrine and Covenants 137:7–9).

Commenting on this revelation, the Prophet Joseph said, “I also beheld that all children who die before they arrive at the years of accountability are saved in the celestial kingdom of heaven” (Doctrine and Covenants 137:10).

From another revelation to the Prophet Joseph, we learn that there are three degrees within the celestial kingdom. To be exalted in the highest degree and continue eternally in family relationships, we must enter into “the new and everlasting covenant of marriage” and be true to that covenant. In other words, temple marriage is a requirement for obtaining the highest degree of celestial glory. (See Doctrine and Covenants 131:1–4.) All who are worthy to enter into the new and everlasting covenant of marriage will have that opportunity, whether in this life or the next.

You speak with triune-forked tongue!

Four statements and a question; and THIS is your reply??

Why can't you address the items?

Do ALL Mormons have this 'herd' amnesia when it comes to things questionable?

Your right. I worship God the Father through his son Jesus Christ ..... not a triune.

Well; if the notarized, verified and amplified words of three notable Mormon witnesses have no effect in what you type here; I highly doubt that anything I can post will do it either.

...the voice of the Lord commanded us that we should bear record of it; wherefore, to be obedient unto the commandments of God, we bear testimony of these things. And we know that if we are faithful in Christ, we shall rid our garments of the blood of all men, and be found spotless before the judgment-seat of Christ, and shall dwell with him eternally in the heavens.

And the honor be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost, which is one God.

Amen.

OK .... Show me where the Sctiptures say that God is one God in Three Persons.

Are THESE 'scriptures' good enough for you??

Book of Mormon:

Now Zeezrom said: Is there more than one God? And he answered, No. (Alma 11:28-29)

...and be arraigned before the bar of Christ the Son, and God the Father, and the Holy Spirit, which is one Eternal God, to be judged according to their works, whether they be good or whether they be evil. (Alma 11:44)

...doctrine of Christ, and the only and true doctrine of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, which is one God, without end. Amen. (2 Nephi 31:21)

...praises with the choirs above, unto the Father, and unto the Son, and unto the Holy Ghost, which are one God, in a state of happiness which hath no end. (Mormon 7:7)

...power of God; and the Son, because of the flesh; thus becoming the Father and Son--And they are one God, yea, the very Eternal Father of heaven and of earth. And thus the flesh becoming subject to the Spirit, or the Son to the Father, being one God, (Mosiah 15:3-5)

...of Jared, that whoso should possess this land of promise, from that time henceforth and forever, should serve him, the true and only God, or they should be swept off when the fulness of his wrath should come upon them. (Ether 2:8)

"And again the Lord called others, and said unto them likewise; and he gave unto them power to baptize. And he said unto them: On this wise shall ye baptize; and there shall be no disputations among you. Verily I say unto you, that whoso repenteth of his sins through your words and desireth to be baptized in my name, on this wise shall ye baptize them--Behold, ye shall go down and stand in the water, and in my name shall ye baptize them. And now behold, these are the words which ye shall say, calling them by name, saying: Having authority given me of Jesus Christ, I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen.

And then shall ye immerse them in the water, and come forth again out of the water. And after this manner shall ye baptize in my name; for behold, verily I say unto you, that the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost are one; and I am in the Father, and the Father in me, and the Father and I are one...And thus will the Father bear record of me, and the Holy Ghost will bear record unto him of the Father and me; for the Father, and I, and the Holy Ghost are one." (3 Nephi 11:22-27, 36)

The Mormon Jesus according to their doctrine:

The origin of Jesus Christ Jesus was begotten by physical union of God and Mary. Since God has a body of flesh and bones, he really had literal sex with Mary. The product of this union was Jesus, part man and part God. We believe Jesus was the first born in heaven by heavenly father and mother who created his spirit and our spirits using our "intelligences" as a foundation for our spirits.

Brigham Young speaking in the Journal of Discourses Vo1 1, Page 51 1852, "Jesus our Elder Brother was begotten in the flesh by the same character that was in the garden of Eden, and who is our Father in Heaven."

Which makes their Jesus the spirit brother of Lucifer who was begotten in the same way.

Think about it.

I have thought about it. 🤪 It’s blasphemous false doctrine. I can’t think of any Mormon doctrine that IS true. There probably isn’t even ONE. They worship a fake God.

History proves Joseph Smith Translated Golden Plates.

This Gold Plate is an exact replica of the original plates that were unearthed by Joseph Smith. It is believed that Joseph Smith wrote these characters directly from the plates in his own hand writing to show their authenticity to scholars. The most important was Charles Anthon. Therefore these reformed Egyptian characters became known as the “Anthon Characters.”Characters taken directly from the plates and written by Mormon / Moroni

I know Joe Smith was a con man, and a horn dog, but I don’t think Mormons defend him, or any Mormon publications, or their ridiculous doctrines. All they do, is try to cast doubt on the Bible, and ask us if we can pray to God if this is true. I think they don’t care if every prophesy of Joe Smith has been proven false, as long as they have this burning in the bosom. It’s all quite subjective. Mormonism doesn’t cut the mustard.
