Working for a foreign government is not illegal. The FARA violation would be doing it deliberately without registering. There are a million loopholes and exemptions, which is why it is almost never prosecuted. Half of Washington is also doing this openly and none are prosecuted. If it was that easy they would have just asked him about that and gotten him to lie about that.
Turkey is a NATO ally and it’s not treason. You may not like it, but please stop calling the general a traitor.
