Just a tiny detail, of no relevance, but... Kiryas Joel. Is THIS what they're calling "Upstate New York"?

Kinda like calling Ft. Lauderdale "upstate Florida".

I don’t know what Upstate in NY is anymore. Sometimes, every place NORTH of the city is called upstate no matter how close to NYC it is.

To a resident of NYC, anything north of the Bronx is “upstate”.

I’ve been there, it’s beautiful country. I can see why they want to think of themselves as having nothing to do with ‘the city’.

Kiryas Joel is in Orange County. Fort Lauderdale is in Broward.
