What happens when it mutates like influenza and colds do? Kill our nation for good?
DOCTOR: "OK, you 25 people line up over here. You are Group A.
And you 25 people line up over there. You are Group B.
The nurse will now give each of you an injection. One group will get the vaccine, the other group a saline solution.
The nurse will then infect each of you with COVID-19.
We'll publish the results in three weeks.
Good luck and God Speed.
oh vey . . .
I can’t wait to get a vaccine made in India. Not.
Three "pandemic wave scenarios" were published yesterday and reported here earlier today. These guys think it will be with us a LONG time at different intensities and different geographies. Fortunately these viruses tend to mutate toward less and less lethality (if I understand the literature correctly).
They compared Scenario 2 to the 1918 Influenza pandemic. From what I've read, the big fall surge in 1918 was largely driven by troops returning from Europe, so (hopefully) that won't apply in 2020.
Is the Serum Institute in a bit of a hurry?
Well we already have a number of stains out there. A vaccine can only work against one strain that is why flu shots only lower the incidence of flu.
Is that a bowl full of immunity there? Yum!
quercetin + chelated zinc + vitamin D + vitamin C is all the vaccine I need.
They can take their monkey trials down the road.
This thing is not that complicated.
.
You never know how fast technology can advance when the entire world economy is on the line. We may see speed records broken in trials and multiple strain-specific vaccines (if the FDA slows it down then I hope the Israelis or Brits develop vaccines before the Commies do).
Exactly. However, I think the “experts” use an educated guess and include 2 strains for flu vaccines every season. Some work...some don’t.
After the lethal polio vaccine that was pushed off on India a while back, I will require seeing a minimum of a year of testing.
Given big pharma’s track record in recent decades that is an entirely reasonable prerequisite.
“A vaccine can only work against one strain that is why flu shots only lower the incidence of flu.”
That’s not true. It’s a bit more complicated than that. The vaccine will only fail to work if the part of the virus the vaccine is designed to mimic is the part of the virus that changes. Could happen, but it’s not probable in the short term.
What’s with the ungrammatical addendum to this article’s title?
RE: Whats with the ungrammatical addendum to this articles title?
To let those who are unaware know that this is not just a monkey trial. And please correct the ungrammatical grammar.
RE; How do they conduct such trials on humans?
They already have. The trials started on April 23.
RE: quercetin + chelated zinc + vitamin D + vitamin C is all the vaccine I need.
Any studies or clinical cases for this in the same manner as say, Hydroxychloroquine + Azithromycin + Zinc?
