Employment in these NoVa environs is predominately government and subidiaries. Still there are a heckuva lot of nongovernmental workers who are anxious to get back to work. The governor comes around and now local leaders are reluctant?! What’s going on?
2.4M democrats sitting on their ass the last 2 months. Tough luck. Time for you lazy bums to go back to work.
Fine. Then let them stay closed and open up the rest of the state.
ASAP.
Try this: most federal government workers have desk jobs tha can be done remotely.
Thats it - cancel the election.
Northern Virginialeaders are all democrats.
They want to keep everything shut down to hurt Trump.
They are all sucking off the government treat and are getting paychecks while the real people are suffering.
Cut the government salaries and that attitude would change suddenly. The Dems imported vast numbers of illegals into Northern Virginia, have abolished ID requirements to vote and even blockaded the parks to keep people from getting outside. They have total control over the levers of power and do not intend to let go.
I don’t miss NOVA one bit. It is freedom escaping it.
According to the Johns Hopkins coronavirus map, the 5 counties with the highest case load and deaths are:
Fairfax County (DC suburbs)
5,892 cases
239 deaths
Prince William County (DC suburbs)
2,740 cases
48 deaths
-
Arlington County. (DC suburbs)
1,368 cases
61 deaths
-
Loudoun County. (DC suburbs)
1,159 cases
30 deaths
-
Henrico County (central Virginia around Richmond)
1,067 cases
109 deaths (50 of them from one particular retirement facility)
-
Chesterfield County (central Virginia around Richmond)
787 cases
26 deaths
According to my calculations, 46% of the confirmed cases are in the Washington, DC metropolitan area as well and 45% of the deaths. The western part of the state, being more rural, doesn’t have many cases.
As long as the rest of the state is sneaking back into the open stage, hope northern virginia stays shut down for at least a year... You get what you vote for... Live with it...

If you are a federal employee paid while you stay home, why would you EVER want to go back to the commute grind?
If lots of federal jobs can be done on the computer from home, American taxpayers don’t need to pay for large office building leases in DC. We could save millions (maybe billions).
If pwc still had republican leadership, it would be opening. Byt the dems took over, and we will do whatever fairfax does.
Headline should substitute “Washington D.C. and its Suburbs” for “Northern Va.”
