Government bureaucrats with guaranteed jobs sure seem to have cavalier attitude towards the devastation of the private sector their policies are causing. The daily press briefing by the mayor of Los Angeles is stomach churning. He and his gang are backslapping each other for all the hard work their agencies are doing getting masks, etc. Meanwhile half the city is unemployed and no one in the press asks him questions like how many more are projected to lose their job if the lockdown continues through the summer.
Many public officials appear to be under the delusion that they can create as much money as they feel like, whenever they feel like.
