We don’t eat out much. we have a lot of vegetables and fruit delivered, I eat steak multiple times a week.
After the service, I played college sports and have stayed in relative shape - at 62, I am still at my college playing weight.
I do smoke down to 1 pack a day from multiple, and I do drink more than the average person.
I don’t have a physical job, but try to remain active. A couple of years ago, my neighbors and I were putting in a fence. The young college boy was having problems using the post hole digger, the adobe type soil is a bitch to dig in the summer. He didn’t have the strength in his body. I got a free fence his dad and I dug all the fence post holes.
I don’t take vitamins or supplements. My first career, after graduate school, I did a post doc and landed a research position in Pharma and I knew people who did absorption studies of supplements and they are not imipressive, so much passes through your system. This was before I turned evil and entered the field of technology.
I’m lucky enough to live where the free ranged meat is raised and have room to grow an organic garden-I was raised on a ranch, so cities are not places I like at all. I drink wine or beer now and then and some evenings I smoke 1-3 cigarettes after dinner -I was taught by my parents that all things in moderation is good-overindulgence is bad. I weigh the same 105 that I did at 17.
Country kids are good, strong workers as construction helpers-most here are homeschooled, so they are able to work a weekday or two-many of their dads are contractors, too so these kids know what site work is-and most of them can drive a skid loader without running over anyone or anything, too-city kids won’t get their hands dirty like that...
It looks as though even more kids out here will continue to be homeschooled-that is a real silver lining to all this...
