I’m one of those folks< Mercat. However, I’m fortunate enough to live where there are a lot of people who run cattle and own pigs & chickens. It’s always a good idea to be friendly with your neighbors, but some times are especially advantageous. :-)
We have a wonderful resource on Facebook called “Shop Kansas Farms.” It was started less than a month ago and someone said it has 100k members. We buy local meat, eggs, veggies, and there’s local milk I need to buy and several places to buy bread. I also have a garden. I’m going to plant more spinach and lettuce today since it’s been so cool.
