Rick Bright, former director of the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority, told Congress Thursday that political pressure forced "dozens of federal scientists" to spend a harried 48-hour stretch rushing to put together a protocol for approving hydroxychloroquine for widespread use in covid-19 patients. Ultimately, that approach wasn't taken. The FDA issued an emergency authorization for hospitalized covid-19 patients who cannot participate in a clinical trial.
Bull. All the other countries are using it. Corona is sort of like strep. Lots of different stuff will kill it. Hydroxy too. But big pharma doesn’t want that answer. It won’t make them any money.
This is the one that has been safely used for decades, right?
I read the first two “studies”. They were both DESIGNED to have HCL fail.
So yes, if you give a patient on the verge of death HCL then it is associated with death.

Man, I hate the title. Instead of “promoted” why not tell the truth: “On the basis of information provided by doctors treating COVID-19 patients in the field, President Trump announced their findings and suggests...” He “promoted” it based upon the advice given to him by doctors. This sounds like he’s selling it out of the back of a horse-drawn wagon in the Old West.
“Trump” and “death”’in the same headline. These people are sick.
Good personal doc tors know their patients and the risks for each patient. They should prescribe in in their own best judgment.
Strange, don’t remember ever even 1 mention of deaths from this drug in the 60’s. Since the Army made me take the drug while I was overseas, how long before the lawyers start piling on with class action suits? Maybe they could piggyback one with the earplug suits since they failed to provide earplugs back then too. /sarc off
In fine print : “certain patients”
Even Tylenol can be lethal to “certain patients” (liver problems). Every drug is depending on dosage and comorbidities, and HCQ is very dose sensitive. But of course this isn’t about HCQ or its effectiveness.

Total dose: 1,200 mg over five days
* BID = twice a day

800 mg salt (620 mg base) orally as an initial dose, followed by 400 mg salt (310 mg base) at 6, 24, and 48 hours after the initial dose
Total dose: 2,000 mg salt (1,550 mg base) over 4 days
The COVID-19 total dose is 60% of the malaria total dose and it is spread out over a 25% longer treatment time.
(I do not know how to convert salt and base or if the COVID treatment is salt or base.)
