All (Seattle) Seafair summer events officially canceled for 2020

SEATTLE -- One of Seattle's greatest summer traditions is the latest event to be cancelled due to the coronavirus.

Seafair organizers announced all major of the events over the weeks-long celebrations have been canceled for 2020 and will instead have to wait until the summer of 2021 to come back.

Gone are the annual big 4th of July fireworks show over Lake Union and Gas Works Park, the Torchlight Parade in late July, and the grand finale weekend featuring the Blue Angels roaring in the skies above and Unlimited Hydros roaring across Lake Washington. Intermixed were car shows, Milk Carton derbies, the big triathlon, and other neighborhood celebrations.

"We are deeply disappointed but together we will get through this emergency," Eric Corning, President and CEO of Seafair, said in a statement announcing the cancellations. "Events will be an important part of our recovery, and we look forward to working with our sponsorship partners, volunteers, and stakeholders to produce a festival with the Blue Angels, fireworks, pirates, clowns, parades, and all of the neighborhood community events. We will stay active in the community this summer to bring people together to celebrate online and in-person, within the COVID-19 guidelines."

So one of the things they've cancelled is the big July 4th fireworks display. I wonder if this is part of the Demonrat policy to not allow Americans to celebrate our country's founding? It would be just like them to attempt to demoralize Americans who want to enjoy one of the highlights of American summers. I'm wondering how many blue-state governors are going to outright ban fireworks, both public and private? Washington's governor Comrade Inslee is already warning people against gathering in crowds for this upcoming Memorial Day weekend. I wonder how he plans to enforce this? Or if he just intends (in advance) to order further and more stringent lockdowns if people get out and enjoy the weekend?
