Doctors in Northern California say they have seen more deaths from suicide than theyve seen from the coronavirus during the pandemic.
The numbers are unprecedented, Dr. Mike deBoisblanc of John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, California, told ABC 7 News about the increase of suicide deaths adding that hes seen a years worth of suicides in the last four weeks alone.

I’m surprised the doctor would have seen any suicide deaths. Wouldn’t that be the job of the coroner?
Other than that - I agree with the doctor that it is time (past time) to open things up while at the same time being prudent.
Yeah but it’s one doctor. So it’s anecdotal at best. And probably exaggerated.
You need hard state wide numbers to evaluate this.
I actually never called for lock downs. I called for travel bans, quarantines and keeping it out of communities. I called for masks in affected communities. And am still calling for masks.
But I supported the temporary lock downs once they occurred. And I will refute the arguments that they did no good.
