I can’t find the article anymore, but Gregg Jarrett and others stated Sessions applied the law incorrectly in requiring himself to be recused.

...Gregg Jarrett and others stated Sessions applied the law incorrectly in requiring himself to be recused.

Not an article, but the words out of Jarrett's own mouth.
Jeff Sessions Cited the WRONG LAW when He Recused Himself from Russian Witch Hunt

Attorney General Sessions’s Recusal Was Unnecessary By Andrew C. McCarthy
Nonetheless, it was unnecessary for Sessions to recuse himself from the broader counterintelligence investigation. It is not a criminal inquiry, and Regulation 45.2 explicitly applies only to criminal investigation or prosecution.

Sessions is like a dripping faucet. He just won't stop his aggravating behavior.

And the guy never said a word to Trump before recusing himself.

Why?

I think they had something on Sessions so he sneakily recused himself and allowed that mess to go on.

Jeff Sessions is nowhere near a hero of any kind.
