I met Sliwa once on W34th Street near Madison Square Garden.IIRC that's near where WABC had their studios and it was during the time he had a radio show on WABC.
A nice,friendly guy...he gave me his business card and I still have it...somewhere!

Sliwa is uniquely able to flaunt an illegal law in front of the cops and have them look the other way. He's been a big friend of law enforcement for 30 years or more.
I'm not sure the regular guy on the street would get the same treatment.
