“Tonight,” Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti said, “I want to announce new changes” to the restrictions put in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The mayor announced, as of tomorrow, the city will “allow all retail businesses” to let customers inside their stores so long as those businesses abide by COVID prevention best practices, which includes allowing only 50 percent of capacity...

Good news, good news. Now, reopen the schools, even if just for Summer School. This would free many parents to return to work, in case their employer is now ready to reopen.

Yoo Hoo! To that woman in Michigan. Look around. Some of your Dem pals are starting to open up for business. You really wanna be left behind with Mayor Lightfoot in Chicago? Nobody likes her either.

so another mini-fascist backs down ... i’m not terribly surprised ... i knew this was going to eventually happen when so many of the red states successfully went back to being normal ... the economic and political pressure was just going to be too overwhelming for the blue state fascists to keep their citizens “locked down” much longer than the red states ... their plan to destroy the U.S. economy was only going to destroy their own citizens lives anyway, and not the country as a whole ... as much as they’ve wanted to, their plan to burn down our country in order to destroy Donald Trump was doomed to failure, and in my opinion is going to backfire politically in a spectacular way come November ...

Garcetti is nothing more than a retromingent piece of subhuman drivel. His sole motivation is his own advancement, once desiring to be president. He cares mothing beyond himself. FY you buffoon, your horse, your car, your family and your rotten toothbrush. FY.

Anybody betting how strongly the rules will be enforced? Garcetti realized he shot himself in the foot and he's trying to save the other one.

questions about the German study mentioned below came up on Fox today, think it was on Ingraham Angle.

21 May: Daily Mail: Leading Cambridge University expert says risk for children catching COVID-19 is ‘unbelievably low’ and teachers are not at greater danger amid row over plans to reopen schools
•Eminent statistician Sir David Spiegelhalter said data showed extremely low risk
•Rubbished claims kids were super-spreaders, saying science did not back it up
•Boris Johnson has faced ferocious backlash for plan to reopen schools on June 1
by Connor Boyd
But Professor Spiegelhalter pointed out that just one out of 7million children aged four to 14 in England and Wales has died from COVID-19...

Spiegelhalter also condemned a German pre-published study that suggested children carry the same viral load of COVID-19 as adults.
Because youngsters get much more mild symptoms, the results raised fears children could become super-spreaders.
However the statistician said the data clearly had been misinterpreted because it actually showed children have just a quarter of the viral load of adults.

He added: ‘One of the big problems with this epidemic is that claims are being rushed out. Peer -review [when other scientists scrutinise research] has just disappeared from scientific analyses and yet they get a lot of media coverage.
‘It is widely claimed that children have got the same viral load as adults, from a German study.
‘If you look at that study it shows that is clearly not the case, children have about a quarter of the viral load according to the study. It’s a very poor statistical analysis.’...
