If you haven’t figured it out yet, there’s a war on.

The idea of not using the enemy’s own weapon against them is suicidal - a will to lose.

We’re not willing to lose. So unless you have a winning play available, this is the hand we got and it’s the one we’re going to win with.

No no no, it’s ok when our side does it. Always remember that.

The law makes the status of platform DEPENDENT on neutrality towards content.

They have violated that neutrality and are therefore now a PUBLISHER. And liable for everything. They’re done for - not by executive action, but by the epic torrent of lawsuits that will be coming the moment the publisher status is official.

The two of you should get a room, over at some an-cap forum.

Your behavior is akin to that of saboteurs. As much as you may promote your own virtue, the rest of us are justly aghast at your lack of perspective and obstinate insistence on wedding yourself to enemy assumptions.

Gab once had hope but it’s a flaming dumpster fire now. Parler is the better bet.

When the next D gets in power we’ll see how you like it when they throw around EO’s to ban FR or whatever they thing is bad.

Something like that already happened. Obama targeted conservatives with the IRS. And “our” elected GOP reps couldn’t have cared less. In fact some like McCain egged them on.

“Those protections forbid things like the fact check they applied to Trump’s tweets.”

I’m sure somebody will make that assertion in court.

But it’s a reach, at best.

They way to handle this is through the US Congress with new legislation and law. It’s likely the only chance of prevailing.

It not hard to figure out that many of these companies both dominate their markets and practice anti competitive behaviors.

Now, there are other ways to screw a big company when you are the Executive.

You completely miss the point that they are engaging in illegal actions. Or perhaps you don’t care.

Does a private company have the right to racially discriminate? Does a private company have a legal right to deny your freedom of speech?

Do I lose Section 230 immunity if I edit the content?
Courts have held that Section 230 prevents you from being held liable even if you exercise the usual prerogative of publishers to edit the material you publish. You may also delete entire posts.

https://www.eff.org/issues/bloggers/legal/liability/230

So apparently you are wrong. It’s not as cut and dry as you make out.

A straight forum app, well has anyone thought of appifying FR with Jim’s permission?

The app would have to authenticate (freeper name and password) then be allowed to access the server via an API. That leads to a new level of potential DDOS. John R already has his hands full with DDOS.

Even prior to authentication, a million simulated apps could overwhelm the server with bogus login requests. I can't say it would be worse than browsers but it would require more anti-DDOS code.

The law makes the status of platform DEPENDENT on neutrality towards content.

Section 302 says nothing of the kind. Quote the statutory language you're relying on.

You’re a perfect example of a “good German”. Perfectly willing to throw your principles out the window to fight a so called “war” (which, in their case, turned into a real one.) Although I agree with DJT from a policy perspective about 95% of the time, his immature Twitter tantrums have proved him to be his own worst enemy.

I’m not all that surprised at all. Disappointed that there’s a complete brownshirt wing that’s damned as hell for an EO to work against a private company.

LOL. Democrats are already sending FBI “brownshirts” to raid supporters of POTUS in the dead of night. They thank useful idiots on the right for supporting their Big Tech propaganda wing.

YES!!!! a private company has EVERY right to deny your freedom of speech! Freedom of speech protects you from the Government, NOT from private companies.

What gets me is all of you people here getting all out upset about something when you have no idea what Trump is actually going to do. Therefore you have no grounds to claim it is illegal because you simply don’t have clue what this is about. Maybe Trump is going to change their tax or legal status because they are clearly working for the democrats. Whatever- We simply don’t know.

...Truman did this to steel mills in the 50s.

Remember the Kefeauver Hearings? Lots of Anti-Trust action in the 1950s. Loads of exposed corruption. I was a kid, but I’d watch the hearings after school, just mesmerized at what these crooks got away with.

DJT is a Truman for the 21st century.

It’s worse now and DJT is giving them more hell that Harry ever did. He “just tells the truth and they think it’s hell.”

Go Donald!

Gab is still being restrained by Big Tech fascists. They are still banned from the phone app stores. You need to get with current technology. It’s all about phones and apps now. And the monopolistic gatekeepers of that tech are playing for Team Democrat.
