I read that the autopsy said he didn’t die from asphyxiation. Did it mention any bruising or marks on him?

As I understand it “being restrained” was also listed on the autopsy as cause of death. Perhaps that was referring to the knee to neck restraint. Just guessing.

Yep, 8 mins plus with a knee forcefully pressed upon a suspect’s neck, 2 mins plus of the suspect being literally and physically unresponsive towards the end of that 8 mins plus. Yeah, okie...

“I read that the autopsy said he didn’t die from asphyxiation”

Sleeper hold does not kill via asphixiation

The coroner’s report did NOT say that.
It used the very specific medical term “traumatic asphyxiation”.
DuckDuckGo for it yourself, I found it in 30 sec on Wikipedia.

It’s where you compress the thorax (chest) so hard the blood flows the wrong way out of the heart.

It has literally nothing WHATSOEVER to do with putting a knee on a man’s neck.

The officer charged with murder and manslaughter had had 10 prior excessive force complaints: one doesn’t count as he shot a guy going bezerk with a knife.

But guess who was the county attorney at least part of the time, who didn’t charge this ex-policeman?

Amy Klobuchar. Currently Democrat US Senator from Minnesota, and until this blew up, a hopeful for VP on the Biden ticket.

Think there just might possibly have been pressure to keep the cops from looking TOO bad?

The documents of Probable Cause, for the ex-policeman now in jail on $500,000 bond for 3rd degree murder and manslaughter, make reference to a 9-minute long continuous video taken from 6 feet away while the victim was lying in the street on his stomach handcuffed.
One of the OTHER policemen checks and finds the victim DOES NOT HAVE A PULSE.

This isn’t a zombie video game, people without a pulse do not attempt to overpower officers. They’re what in layman’s terms, are called, “Dead.”

The Kneecap officer kept his knee on the dead guy’s neck for over 2 1/2 more minutes after the guy had passed out. He NEVER attempted to give CPR.

I am amazed at the sheer volume of completely uninformed pro-police rhetoric about this case even here on FR which ought to know better. (”Free” Republic, as in, the Constitution is supposed to protect citizens from this kind of thing.)
