Another retired general has joined the criticism of President Donald Trump.
Martin Dempsey, the former Joint Chiefs of Staff chairman, criticized Trump's threat to use military force to suppress the protests around the nation as 'dangerous' and 'very troubling.'
'The idea that the president would take charge of the situation using the military was troubling to me,' Dempsey told NPR.

This is what I don’t understand about all this uproar about Trump suggesting use of the military.
Federal troops went to Little Rock in 1957 to enforce a school integration court order.
Federal troops went to Detroit in 1967 to help put down rioting.
Federal troops went to Los Angeles in 1992 to help stop the Rodney King riots.
Given that there is a history of the use of federal troops in extraordinary circumstances why are the liberals so upset that Trump suggested that troops could be used in what is clearly an emergency?...

Had this been Obama, both of these lick spittles would be saying "Good Job Boss! Absolutely the right thing to do!"
Military coup will not be well received.
This is troubling. They never spoke up when Obama tied the hands of troops with restrictive rules of engagement. Powell was complicit with Bush that Iraq had mobile weapons of mass destruction and needed to be invaded. Where were they for so many things under previous presidents? And now they don’t want to protect us from Antifa and their minions running amok and burning our cities and trying to overrun the White House?
I’m beginning to understand why, after twenty years we haven’t won in Iraq, Afghanistan or Syria. Do these (ahem) military brass remember the oath of office they took? What the h#ll do they think the word domestic is there? Also, like ve the fact that the death of American citizens doesn’t seem t bother them, nor the little SS f their businesses and property. Maybe someone should tell them that these are the people who pay for their spiffy uniforms and the colorful doodad they wear on their chests. It’s OUR sons and daughter, fathers and mothers, husbands and wives that they had to problem sacrificing to save some town in crapistan but are horrified of using them to peotect their own country.
These men have shown their true character.....or should I say lack of character.
Obama made sure he got rid of all the conservative military. We are now stuck with a bunch of liberals running the military.
Trump has a way of making these Democrats show their RED MONKEY ASSES!
