Washington Post columnist: It's 'acceptable' for journalists to be activists, 'they should stand up for civil rights' (Media Propagandists Exposing themselves.)
Fox News ^ | 06/08/2020 | Joseph A. Wulfsohn

Washington Post media columnist Margaret Sullivan suggested that on Sunday that it's "acceptable" for journalists to be activists for civil rights. Sullivan addressed the inner turmoil that took place at The New York Times last week involving the uproar over an op-ed penned by Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., as well as obstacles journalists have faced in recent weeks like sustaining injuries from the George Floyd protests and the massive layoffs due to the coronavirus pandemic by insisting that journalists "could come out of stronger and better" if they "grapple with some difficult questions." "The core question is this: In this polarized, dangerous moment, what are journalists supposed to be?" Sullivan asked. "Pose that question to most members of the public, and you might get an answer something like this: 'Just tell me the bare facts. Leave your interpretation out of it. And don’t be on anyone’s side.' That’s an appealing idea at first blush. It’s also one that doesn’t always work, especially right now." The media columnist argued that every element of reporting is "the product of choice" from the text to the images, stressing "we choose what to focus on, what to amplify, what to investigate and examine." "That’s why the simplistic 'just the unadorned facts' can be such a canard. And that’s why the notion to 'represent all points of view equally' is absurd and sometimes wrongheaded," Sullivan wrote. "The real answer is to make better, wiser choices — ones that best serve our important mission to find and tell [our version of the] truth."

They are coming right out and saying that they are propagandists here. Why does anyone believe anything that they spew at this point?

Sure, its fine for them to be activists if they so choose. Many people do that.

But they should then not expect any respect from others as honest “journalists,” or hypocritically call themselves such.

No, it's not acceptable. Another example of the Left breaking everything they touch.

Of course, they can write what they please. If they follow this path, they're not journalists. They're columnists. A form of opinion writer.

Even when I was unfortunately a member of the RAT Party I always knew the MSM were RAT cheerleaders. Their idolatry for anybody with a D by their name really became sickening during the reign of The One!

I do. I just named my bathroom after George Floyd.

now everytime I go to the bathroom I will say I am going to the George Floyd room.

It’s the least I can do for a great man.

and nobody bother me with crap about now this wasn’t about him and how it was horrible etc. I am not going to be on the jury. He had a ton of fentanyl,

And I don’t care how many years ago it was he put a knife to a pregnant woman’s stomach, you don’t reform from an act like that. You are either a monster who can do it a person who can’t.

I refomed from doing bad things in my late teens and twenties. Not in my wildest dreams did I ever think of putting a knife to a pregnant woman’s stomach

The New York Times “staff town hall” meeting leading to the the 1619 Project should have been proof enough of that. They basically admitted that the purpose was to pivot from the failed “Trump is a Russian asset” narrative to the “American is irredeemably racist” narrative in time for 2020.

Glad they are admitting their role in destroying America. They are now officially combatants and can expect treatment as same.

‘...they should stand up for civil rights’

What kinds of civil rights? Because I know from experience that Leftists don’t mean *all* types of civil rights.

So where are we supposed to go for actual news? The place we go to just hear the truth about what’s going on in the world?

I always thought “civil rights” included the rights of the accused? I guess in this instance, they do not.

Another puking fifth columnist reporting whatever they see through their biased prism. No, Margaret, you’re not going to spout activist propaganda and call yourself an objective reporter or even an investigative journalist. You’re little more than a subversive tabloid trash scribe, you mangy mutt.

IMHO, the vast majority of social justice warriors have little idea what social justice actually is, and wouldn’t recognize it if it bit them in the a**. Social justice is most DEFINITELY not what most academic faculty think it is, or what most celebrities think it is, or what the news media thinks it is. There aren’t even conceptually close.

Sullivan is a hardcore Marxist, the worst of the worst of the columnists printed in the Metro Section (Dvorak, Surugla (sp?), McCarthy, Milloy (once a good, sane writer who went to the “black side” and never came back to sanity).

Glad to see “journalists” wearing their bias like a badge of glory. We can all stop pretending now that everything they report isn’t propaganda.
