The French aristocracy was inherently decadent and placed an inordinate faith in the Monarchy to protect their lives and property. American urban elites are similar and really decadent. However there are many, many well armed, rational Americans who will protect and defend.
I don't know whether to laugh out loud at this statement or cry at the absurdity of it. It isn't going to happen.
