My Coworker parent is 82, tested positive for Covid. They use Remedesivir from the start at admission, no symptoms now. They are waiting on a negative test result before returning to nursing home.

The new treatments are lowering the death rate.

That is good to hear but it is dependent on where you go...as I have seen people talk about the decisions at their hospitals when there is only one dose..and in one case the dr couldnt get them to budge on the decision..but they later reversed course. This wasnt that long ago.

maybe now that the US bought the supply there will be more availability

I plan on going to a teaching/rearch hospital if I come down with it.
