With the Wuhan virus, Gavin Newsom discovers the perils of crying ‘Wolf’

California Governor Gavin Newsom (Dem.) has been playing politics with the Wuhan virus. When he first ordered a short lockdown to “flatten the curve,” Californians played along despite the economic destruction because the virus was new, and the predictions were scary. They played along when the lockdown didn’t stop. They played along when Newsom locked the elderly up in nursing homes to die. They played along when Newsom boldly quashed constitutional rights.

And then, suddenly, Newsom announced that mass riots were okay – and, by the way, if you’re not rioting, you’re still locked up. Having been lied to and manipulated, Californians are turning to civil disobedience.

...

Newsom, like Gov. Cuomo, placed virus patients in nursing homes, which may have contributed to the 2,531 resident and 93 care worker deaths

...

With its lockdown, which initially was to last for two weeks and that instead continued for months, Newsom weakened the California economy, drove its citizens to despair, prevented people from getting healthcare for other potentially deadly conditions, and deprived citizens of their constitutional rights.

Concerning those constitutional rights, in May, the state banned those protesting the lockdown, violating their First Amendment right “peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.” Most recently, Newsom banned singing in houses of worship, violating the First Amendment’s mandate that the government cannot prohibit the “free exercise” of religion.

The lockdown prohibitions vanished, however, when the Black Lives Matter protests started. Suddenly, it was okay for people to gather, sometimes in the tens of thousands, burning and looting as they went (with a particular focus on anti-Semitic destruction). Governor Newsom approved,

To politicians’ and bureaucrats’ chagrin, Californians .. are rebelling. ... while mortality has decreased.

Tar, feathers, rough hemp rope, & strong tree limb needed.

Some assembly required.

Environmentally conscious individuals are encourages to reuse the rope and tree limb.        /sadSARC

I’m sorry to say that here in Arizona almost all are falling in line with the muzzle orders. Fortunately, the biggest supermarkets aren’t yet hassling or obstructing customers who choose not to wear a mask, but nearly everybody is compliant, except the occasional middle-aged or older man. Death rates continue to decline. We have more cases than much smaller Connecticut, but less than one-third the death rate, despite a large older population, as AZ, like FL, is a popular retirement destination.

Given California’s voting demographics and recent voting history, Newsom has nothing to worry about. When he’s termed out, someone just like him will replace him, maybe London Breed, mayor of SF.

He’ll also be on the short list for the Dems choice for prez in 2024.

The only sane thing to do is move out of the state, take your tax dollars with you, your businesses and starve the beast - the Democrat created welfare state that used to be the Golden State of California.

One of our family members is moving to Texas soon and encouraging the rest of us to go with him. Sounds promising. And, we all vote Republican.

Arizona also has more cases due to your ‘visitors’ from south of the border.

"Recall petition signatures are in the mailbox."

Thank you for mentioning that sasquatch.

Since PDJT has made clear possible security problems with mailed voting ballots, mailed recall Gavin signatures must be at risk too.

Californians might want to have a look at Recall Gavin web site. It looks like there’s a downloadable petition and drop-off locations.

Recall Gavin Newsmen

Corrections, insights welcome.

Send "Orange Man Bad" federal and state government desparate Democrats and RINOs home in November!

Supporting PDJT with a new patriot Congress and state government leaders that will promise to fully support his already excellent work for MAGA and stopping SARS-CoV-2 will effectively give fast-working Trump a "third term" in office imo.

It’s about time. We are constantly being lied to and yet the brain dead/politically motivated lap it up.
Hypocrisy reigns supreme.

He was only taking orders from the top democrat leaders, but they are finding out it’s only helping Trump to be reelcted.

I’m shocked at how many Karens have come out of the woodwork in AZ - enough to terrify Doug Ducey into complying with their fears. I wish I could say they are recent transplants from CA, but I fear too many are long-time residents married to nominally conservative white men - and will offset their votes in November.

The author mistakenly assumes being proven wrong and being proven a disgusting hypocrite will have any consequences for Newsom. I don’t believe that’s the case.

If facts had any effects on the thinking patterns of liberals, we wouldn’t be where we are now

We are talking about a state where illegal aliens are given prominent positions in state and local government.

The revolt has started—the 4th of July fireworks illegally used tells us that. If the people disobey there isn’t enough “Karens” and Kops to put the Genie back in the Bottle. I only fear a long hot summer of riots, demonstrations, bloodshed. lock downs and Power blackouts that will set this state on fire. Its in the air—CHANGE is needed and change must come from below, not above! Civil War may well be coming—and California will split in two—Coastal Socialist Peoples republic, and Serras, central Valley “Free California”. In any case—lots of folks are, sadly, going to die.
