Used to be where an actor could play any role; Greeks, Romans, playing male and female roles, Shakespearean actors play male and female roles - White men and women playing Native Americans (Natalie Wood, Jeff Chandler), now in this “mixed race culture” a white actor cannot play a cajun mixed person.
I think it is the SAG trying to hire more actors, you cannot play a cajun, unless you are a cajun; cannot play a woman unless you are a woman, tranny for tranny, religious preference for religious preference, if agnostic cannot play Catholic, Protestant, Muslim, Buddhist, or Jewish person...
