Hope he’s right and the percentage does fit in well with the rate of reelection of any incumbent politician. That percentage of reelection is in the mid 90s. Trump is different in the respect that every global cannon on the planet is trained against him, and us. That makes this election day different.

Actually, a little history is in order here.

Nixon, Reagan and W faced a viciously hostile mass media environment at a time when the mass media were much more influential than they are today.

They all won re-election.

Arguments that "we are not the same country" do not convince me. Arguments that "there is more voter fraud" do not convince me. The reason is that "not the same country" and "voter fraud" did not stop a Trump victory in 2016, and the Hillary campaign was much better organized with a much stronger candidate than the senile Biden.

Incumbent presidents have certain very large advantages if the re-election team is smart enough to know how to use them.
