Ohio Sheriff: ‘I am Not the Mask Police. I am Not Going to Enforce Any Mask-Wearing’
Legal Insurrection, ^ | July 8, 2020 | Mary Chastain

Posted on 07/10/2020 5:25:03 AM PDT by george76

“I’m not a scientist, but I want you to know the police are busy…Don’t call 911 because someone is not wearing a mask. If the health departments want to control who is not wearing a mask, let them put a little yellow light on their car and they can stop people and go in.”

...

Butler County, in Ohio, Sheriff Richard Jones announced he would not enforce the health department’s mask mandate:

...

The news comes as the Ohio Department of Health issued a mandate that all citizens in Ohio’s “red counties” wear masks to slow the spread of coronavirus across the state.

...

The mandate says that people must wear a mask indoors, but not a residence. People must wear a mask outdoors if they cannot social distance.

Jones insisted he and the deputies will not enforce the mandate. He also pleaded with people not to call 911 if they spot people not wearing a mask:

“It’s totally out of control. It should be left up to the individual if they want to wear a mask. If someone is sick, I can understand the mask-wearing. But for all of us to have to have your temperature taken, to have to wear a mask – where is it going to stop?” Jones said.

...

“I, as the Butler County Sheriff, am not enforcing any mask-wearing to the public, and my deputies will not enforce it. We’ve got more important things to do.”

The past year has shown just how important the office of Sheriff really is. While it varies from one place to another, it is never an election to sit out or ignore. Andy Taylor ran Mayberry.

This sheriff will be reprimanded/fired in 3-2-1 days. Even if it is an elected office. That is how bad this liberal disease has gotten.

I would sooner deal with riots. How bad is the rioter situation in Ohio?

I applaud Sheriff Jones. Most of the dance venues that stay open post a sign on the door that say you are required to wear a mask coming in and leaving the establishment (i.e. in the parking lot).

I was joking with my friends the other day. One of the exemptions to the mask rule is if the person you are with is hard of hearing. How many of us seniors are not hard of hearing? Dance on!

Fortunately, I’m not hard of hearing, but I do have a hard time understanding what people are saying when they wear a mask. I’ve noticed the same with others.

I had lunch yesterday with a constitutional sheriff in a state with mandated mask rules.

Neither he, nor I nor the restaurant staff was masked.

Ohio’s “red counties”

Red counties refers to colors on the Ohio COVID exposure map with yellow, orange, red and purple but no county has reached purple yet.

If the future is anything like the recent past they will find a way to get rid of him.

Lawmen know that the criminal identity concealing risks of mask wearing outweigh the spurious “public health benefits” of their use.

If governors such as those Nursing Home Killer (NHK) Andrew Cuomo in New York, Nursing Home Killer (NHK) Phail Murphy in New Jersey, Gruesome Gavin Newsom in California, and Wolf in Pennsylvania are out marching with rioters violating THEIR OWN orders, there is no law to require masks and distancing.

Any law enforcement officer who tried to detain or summons a citizen would be violating the law. Any business who refused service to a customer would be violating their civil rights since the governors' orders are moot.

My wife and I have been going dancing in Montgomery and Butler counties (DeWine’s red counties) for several weeks now, and it’s actually pretty nice because the establishments have taken out or blocked tables for social distancing and the employees wear masks. With fewer people in the establishments, there’s a lot more room on the dance floor.

I asked a police officer who is enforcing this in NJ this question.

Does it bother you that you are enforcing the orders of a governor who marches in protests for people that want to defund you?

Good to see the resistance, but freedoom lovers need to educate themselves — and be able to explain — why masks don’t protect and hinder breathing. There are voters who will listen.
