It has nothing to do with children. It has everything to do keeping the virus alive until after the election.
Communists like Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.) do not like Betsy DeVos because she supports students and their parents to make decisions about school. Communists believe in central control.
Are taxpayers dollars being wisely spent by public school officials and their unions? Parents and students have less and less a role in decisions relating to government education.
The pencil necks like Pressley think that they know better than you.
How about this. If schools don’t reopen the teachers are laid off, without pay, and the portion of the school tax that pays salaries is refunded?
You have to wonder at what point Prominent democrats (and their willing rank & file) will figure out that they need a vibrant economy or else all the programs where they hand out money and employ people doing useless things will have to end.
When (or if) that happens, then Democrats will demand schools reopen. Without schools reopening, one parent will have to forgo work to be responsible for their school age children. That lack of income will reduce government tax revenues and increase the need for government services.
Opening schools is important to rebuilding our economy.
Fair enough, especially given that salary and benefits is about 80% of the budget/taxes

What many people on the right seem to be unaware of is that virtually everyone in the bureaucracy at all levels is supportive of policies and laws that INCREASE the power and control of government which serves to decrease the liberties of a free people. That’s just how bureaucrats think: their job security, their pay scales, their pensions, etc., and the hell with everyone else! I know this because I worked in the Federal bureaucracy for over 30 years.

When she first came out as a new Congress-member, Ayanna Pressley posed as being more moderate, sensible, and experienced than her fellow Squad members. The more mentally-balanced wing of the Mass Democrat party bought this pose.
