Oliver Stone slams 'fragile' Hollywood: 'Can't make a film without a sensitivity counselor'

Director Oliver Stone told The New York Times in an interview published Monday that Hollywood has become "too fragile, too sensitive," with the 73-year-old adding, "You can’t make a film without a sensitivity counselor."

The perspective from Stone, who is responsible for "Wall Street," "Born on the Fourth of July" and "JFK," comes ahead of his upcoming memoir, "Chasing the Light."

"Everything has become too fragile, too sensitive. Hollywood now — you can’t make a film without a Covid adviser. You can’t make a film without a sensitivity counselor. It’s ridiculous," Stone told the Times.

"It’s politically correct [expletive], and it’s not a world I’m anxious to run out into," Stone added. "I’ve never seen it quite mad like this. It’s like an 'Alice in Wonderland' tea party.

And these councilors probably want their names in the credits as well.

Your post just confirmed my gut feeling to stay away from that movie. Most of that genre is not for me. In a book, maybe, but rarely on film.
Let those who like movies such as SAW patronize Steven King’s It.

One of the GREAT solos by Larry Carlton for SD...and almost as great as his solo on "Don't Take Me Alive".

Schadenfreude alert-people like Oliver Stone were all in with trashing conservatives at every opportunity for decades-his whining has me howling with glee...

That ‘Fault -Stars’ was a very good movie.
I would never have seen it, but I went looking for something with actors I didn’t already know.
I was surprised at how deeply this movie effected me, even though I knew how it would end. That’s what good actors and characters you now care about can do.

This came out in 2014.
Same year as NOAH with Russell Crowe. I did not really like this movie, and left midway through.

Regarding Oliver Stone, perhaps with age comes wisdom. Although since he’s 73, it took him long enough.

because noah was left wing nature worshiping ####

man does not have domain...is what the movie was saying

they’re wrong

and yeah it was a really good movie!!

i won’t mention the ending here in case anybody reads lol what are the odds?

but i was surprised.

i protected a 40 machine vending route from the 5 families in NYC in my 20s so I have nothing left to prove at 52

i cried at some scenes. We Italians are emotional :)

...and my uncle who is deceased now was pretty powerful and got me out of a bunch of jams when i had the route :)

ciao!

It's NOT about sensitivity.

IT IS about shutting up opposing views.

These are your fellow travelers Ollie, just carried out to its logical end.
No complaining now, just watch what you helped create grow and destroy whatever it can, including you.

With the movie theatres completely destroyed and the streaming services doing to film what they did to music, your days are numbered bub. Good luck finding investors for anything but Chinese propaganda, the market value of your product is less than a dollar.

You earned it. Now eat it.
