Everybody is going to get this, because it is far enough from what the human body knows about that there is no immunity. What not everybody will get is severely ill from it, because only about 10% of us will become severely ill. Everybody else will either get a mild case, that is shakeable, or not ill at all.
A vaccine will not be probably for the next two years, which means we destroy the economy and become an 18th century agrarian economy again or we just accept some mile measures, like wearing gloves when out an about and masks, if you’re being near people, and wash your hands when you are home.
Are you going to believe the Daily Beast (and the Fearpers), or the New England Journal of Medicine?

Yep.
In fact, my wife and I are both 66 and have zero health care insurance (well, we get Medicare A whether we want it or not) and we’re not even worried about this.
Also, a fun fact from that video: If you are under 25 you are fifty (five zero) times more likely to drown than die of this virus. Yet we still allow young people to go swimming.
While ignoring data and studies from Sweden, Norway, etc., etc., etc., etc.........................

People cherry pick when they start with a conclusion.
This article is misleading in many ways.
First all, the leftist/MSM political narrative has changed from “flatten the curve” to the impossible “no new cases.” Reasonable people will know there is no way to stop the spread of Covid19 among the population. The only question is - how fast?
The article only discusses “new cases.” it doesn’t discuss how many are asymptomatic and also the death rate.
What could go right? Teachers get it.
What could go wrong? Children are ill educated. Wait, they already are.
There is a slim chance that a vaccine would give us herd immunity.
There is no herd immunity for the flu, 30% is considered effective for that vaccine, excellence is in the 50% range....but it was a milder form. smh
The best thing is to allow the virus/disease to run its course and concentrate on treatments. The money and studies should be placed there for now.
Elect Biden. There will be no need for lockdowns after that.
Go fast or slow. Get it now or get it later. I prefer now while my non-lockdown immunity is still strong. Who knows how weak an immune system can get after prolonged isolation.

Never forget: Israel IS the Left. They want to forward the lockdown scenario. Makes people easier to control. Education be damned. They figure that through the screens, they can indoctrinate more effectively than with live teachers.
The vaccine doesn’t need to get us all the way there to drastically reduce the number of Americans who eventually die from this disease.
If we get a vaccine that’s 50% effective and 100% of the population takes it (I know they won’t, but I’m just using some basic numbers here), that’s 50% of the population with immunity to that pathogen with 0 deaths. If herd immunity is around 65%, then ~15% of the population will get infected naturally and some number of them (CDC now says IFR is probably .63% for COVID-19) will die.
Putting some real numbers around that, 65% of 330 million Americans is 216 million. 15% is 50 million. 15% sounds a lot better to me. That’s why President Trump has pushed so hard to make this happen. He knows it’s the smart play. With any luck, that may be the October surprise needed to secure a huge win.

Your immune system isn't a muscle that gets stronger when used heavily and weaker when not used as much. It has nonspecific defenses that never change (e.g. macrophages and neutrophils) and specific defenses that respond to specific intruders (e.g. Memory B-cells). There is no mechanism for deterioration of this simply due to time. Certainly things that weaken the body as a whole (such as a bad disease, cancer, old age, etc.) have an impact, but a lack of exposure to pathogens has zero impact on the strength or health of your immune system.

We squandered the enormous sacrifice of the lockdowns/quarantine. There was an opportunity to stop this disease.
It is no longer available to us.

In any flu season where we ever told to wear masks? Covid is not the flu but some 60,000 people died from the flu in 2017. No one cared, no lock downs, no mask wearing. This is all bs.
The exact thing we should’ve never done was close the schools. They are born and bred to deal with all matter of viruses and such. They are your prime movers towards immunity.
