You should always haul a second mask so you can double down if terribly threatened by a non-mask wearer.

I find it is best to get close, wag your finger in your face, pull down your own mask, and scream at them. That shows ‘wm.

You think I’ll wear a mask because you hand me one?

To be perfectly honest, when I go out to a store without a mask, it’s because it isn’t required where I am. However, I keep very distant from other customers and store employees. I look away when anyone with a mask starts to give me a disapproving look. I try to make sure they know I will not breathe anywhere in their direction. I move over to the next aisle or wait until they are finished. I social distance at least twice the approved 6 feet. It’s not hard to do.

In the old days, which means before March 2020, anyone who had a sniffle was expected to have a tissue or handkerchief. I still carry those for an unexpected cough, and if I sneeze, I still do it towards my armpit. I look forward to the future day when everyone will stop wearing masks at the store, and everywhere else. Especially since so many are homemade, may I just point out that those things do absolutely no good from a health perspective? They don’t fit properly to keep out any microscopic organisms, and people seem to keep touching their faces more than without them. So what’s the point?

Mask wearing is an exercise in control over my independence and autonomy by someone else. No thanks. This is supposed to be the land of the free and the home of the brave. I want to keep it that way. I’m not going to shame you for wearing one, and you really ought to think twice about wanting to shame me for not wearing one.
