??

How long does it take to sculpt or cast a statue? What’s it cost?

Seems like they were ready for this.

The report emerged hours after Bristol Mayor Marvin Rees, a black man, issued a statement making it clear how he felt about the act of vandalism:

I understand people want expression, but the statue has been put up without permission.

Anything put on the plinth outside of the process we’ve put in place will have to be removed.

The people of Bristol will decide its future.

A real sculpture takes a loong time, and is very expensive. Most statues you can buy at the decor store are cheap cast copies of a single original. And those are still pricey.

The one they replaced it with was a resin-steel one apparently, that was 'built' in a couple hours by some guy in the area that owns a big 3D printer. Not really a statue, no artistic value, all computer scans/printed.
