At one time, my wife would have been crushed to hear this. But after years of watching the channel, she is sort of burnt out on it. Their movies all made on the same template have become too predictable to sit through now.

LOL, I know what you mean.

I was just talking to someone the other day about how these movies are all so similar.

The typical plot is, how some busy single career woman, with a high powered professional career in some big city, returns to her small town hometown for Christmas, and she starts getting involved with a man there, and she realizes there is more to life than her career.

And there are some variations, such as, the man might be an old high school boyfriend, and there is a history there. In that case, the old high school boyfriend is single himself, so there are possibilities with him.

Or perhaps the man owns a ranch, and she realizes how much she loves the animals he has, and she dreams of the life she could have, if only she gets out of the rat race in the big city.

My wife will hopefully get angry and turn Hallmark off for this perversion. She is watching the Christmas in July stuff now. She got mad at me Sunday when her and my daughter-in-law started watching one and I offered to tell them the ending without ever seeing it. The love of their life is in front of them but they are committed to a big city workaholic who wants to take them away from the Norman Rockwell small town and you always have to have a financial issue and an evil big business in the plot somewhere. Variations on a theme is all these Hallmark writers have, it’s really sad they have no more imagination than 104 choruses of the same song.
