I’m not excusing anger and rudeness, but many people are experiencing extra stress over job loss, income reduction, having to work from home and deal with kids, uncertainty about what to do with children in a few months, anxiety about isolation for the more sociable people (cut off from church, clubs, many activities), etc. Hard/stressful times for lots of people.
Down my way in sunny Southwest Florida, Collier County just mandated masks until Sept. 3.
I’m more or less resigned to becoming a recluse for the foreseeable future.
And this amid signs that the epidemic is burning out. Lots of positive tests, but deaths low and hospitalizations manageable.
Herd immunity in Florida should be on the horizon. But instead the media boosts its ratings with panic porn.
Local IGA makes it voluntary. I shop there
‘Ill stick with it for when Im around people, sorry.’
so you go around thinking every person you might encounter is going to infect you with a lethal, deadly disease...? you must be a joy at Thanksgiving dinner...
You can make a mask out of a t-shirt but you cannot use a t-shirt itself. Bizarre.
“And this amid signs that the epidemic is burning out.”
We’ll be living in this yo-yo until November 4. All they can do is run out the clock, and that means a panic period, then a calming period ... panic ... calming. Rinse. Repeat.
I’m afraid you’re right.
I get the sinking feeling that the media runs this country, not our government.
People can say what they want, but Trump has flipped on mask use.
This is such a freaking joke!
“resembles mark of the beast more and more. Is good the WWII generation is not witnessing these days”

Their dads could have told them about the previous Apocalypse and the AntiChrist-Masks of 1918:
“ Common punishments were fines, prison sentences and having your name printed in the paper. In one horrific incident in San Francisco, a special officer for the board of health shot a man who refused to wear a mask as well as two bystanders.”

I just checked their website and it is not mentioned in any capacity. Ill try to go tomorrow and let you know what I find out.

I’d take the free or cheap mask at the door rather than looking like an idiot running around holding up my t-shirt and hanging a huge gut out for all to see (even if the mountain-size belly were clean). The mask would at least look a little less stupid.
Does anyone know the truth?
Are the stores doing this to be safe from lawsuits?
My very last idea is they want to help people
(excuse me for laughing so hard).
These corporations are busy establishing the devil’s new world order. On the other hand; they are scared sh*tless of lawyers.
Mark of the beast?
Nonsense. Just dont shop there.
The masks arent mandated by government, well maybe in
democrat ruled serfdoms.
I agree w/you...
The US survived similar timed during the Spanish Flu 1918 Pandemic.
I found this 2018 pictorial about the Spanish Flu—had pictures...some people were wearing and some not wearing masks...I wanted to see something from before masks became so politicized...

Some cities required masks, closed down schools, etc. and some did not...There were pro- and anti-mask groups then too...
As they say: Perhaps the more things change, the more they stay the same...
Plenty to worry about in 2020, but not sure wearing or not wearing masks should be at the top of the list.
I purchased a hand crocheted mask on Etsy that was marketed as a protest or anti mask. It should be here next week. It is a face covering but the gaps on it are very large. I figure if anyone says anything about it not being much help, Ill point out that unless theyre wearing a fit-tested N-95 like they wear in healthcare settings, mine is no different than theirs.
Wear masks??? Until...when?
Ummm, Im thinking that theyre trying to unload all the stock they have of them suddenly.
