Say what you will about Hi Points, they’re almost impossible to destroy. If I were forming a mutual defense group in a low income area Hi Point 9mm pistols would be the group standard.

I totally agree. I was an NRA Cerified Pistol instructor for a brief period of time, and have seen some wildly bizarre firearms handling. Even after the sweep lecture, people sweep while on the line with finger on the trigger. No more.

I have one of those. Hasn’t jammed or stove piped on me yet.
If it ever does, it’s so heavy that you can beat someone senseless with it.

It’s just an extra Gun to have around the House. Only cost me $139. Such a deal.

My Carry Gun is a 9mm Taurus G2C. It is a really nice Pistol for the Price.

I live in MS, a Constitutional Carry State. Applied for my Permit so I can Carry out of State. Patiently waiting for it to show up. They always make sure to get their Money up front though. LOL

Was at my local gun range today. The range has a small sales area where they used to sell fire arms, ammo, shooting supplies, etc. The sales area was absolutely empty. I asked the manager if they were no longer selling firearms and he laughed and said he would if he could get them. His suppliers won’t even answer the phone as they’re too busy trying to fill orders for larger distributors. Was told people are checking on delivery truck arrival times for the ammo delivery at the big box stores and was purchasing it before it could be stocked on shelves.

Not too many years ago, the Detroit police chief told citizens to arm themselves and take care of things themselves

the under-staffed force was only going to be able to show up and write a report afterwards

I wonder if he still has his job?

Well, if they aren’t felons, they’re probably good people.

Their acronym is dangerously close to a racial slur. I wonder if they intended it to be as an inside joke.

Getting into a fight with a clerk who likely has multiple loaded guns on their body at work doesn’t seem like the best idea

“inside joke” — that immediately occurred to me, too.

Too bad it isn’t the “Metropolitan African American Gun Owners’ Association.”

Agree. I have a Hi Point as a bathroom gun. If it rusts, I throw it away and buy another. Great guns. Have never failed me.

My brother who’s as white as Ward Cleaver, works in Oak Ridge for DOE, has a top secret security clearance, has a state concealed carry permit and he every time he buys a firearm he gets a hold for 24 hrs like clock work, go figure...

Welcome to the club. Firearms are legal in this country.

Hard to get range time when ammo is unavailable.

I’ve seen staff getting berated by an angry customer (Karen) who was incensed that they wouldn’t sell her a gun as a gift for somebody else.

It sounds like the store employee didn't understand the law himself. It is perfectly legal to buy a gun as a gift for someone. This is not a straw purchase. A straw purchase is where you buy a gun for someone else at their behest, and they somehow pay for it.

‘If you have to go cheap, at least get a Kel-Tec. Much better than those.”

I hear that but every Kel-Tec product I ever shot was pure junk.

I believe it was an issue of state law as it related to the transfer. I’m reaching back into memory from years ago (and my memory isn’t what it used to be), but I think it came down to they couldn’t do a sale knowing it was directly leading to an unlawful transfer to someone without any paperwork or background check.

The staff did try to offer that the two of them could come in together and they could process the paperwork for the person receiving the gift. It seemed like if the gift-buyer had just said “I want to buy X”, there would have been no problem. But she was looking for advice on what to buy, and what she wanted had some additional state regulations attached. The whole thing was stupid and convoluted, but I understand the shop employees playing by the rules (no matter how dumb and unconstitutional they may be) to protect the business. This was near the start of Obama’s first term and everyone expected major crackdowns.

Same here, but they’re still better than hi-point imo which barely cost any more. My only Kel-tec broke on me after 200 rounds of .32. Not realizing advising anyone to go cheap for guns.

Maybe a good thing or not. Are they arming themselves to join the para military neighborhood black groups that are organizing like down in Georgia?
