IF you think everyone pays 55 cents for postage stamps, you are wrong.

I got a solicitation from a company with connections to Nevada state government & the postage on the envelope says 16 1/2 cents. I know that Utah state pays only 39 cents of so for their mailing costs.

Look hard at the mail you do receive. Lots of stuff UNDER 55 cents.

Different classes of mail, such as Presort First Class, and Presort Standard is cheaper than regular First Class.

To get those rates, it has to be a bulk mailing.

The cheapest one, Presort Standard is “one way” mail. If the addressee has moved the pieces get tossed for recycling. If it is endorsed “Address Service Requested”, it costs the sender $.95 to get a photocopy of the customer’s new address, and the the piece gets tossed.
