The results of stopping HCQ in Switzerland are statistically as valid as a double blind placebo test because that is in effect almost exactly what happened. The set of patients before and during the government shutdown of the use of Hydroxychloroquine are essentially randomly chosen. The before and after shutdown patients are the test group, the patients during the shutdown period are the placebo group. The treatment procedures, hospitals involved, doctors involved, etc. are unchanged for both periods of time, and in reality during the shutdown other therapies were probably tried.

Because of the overall, external shutdown, the kind of treatment related bias that double blind studies are intended to prevent was not a factor.

Doing a full on/off study of a treatment is almost never done for ethical reasons. But in this case that's what happened so we have the data. And it is pretty clear how important early HCQ treatment is.

Hydroxychloroquine, by contrast, costs 60 cents a tablet, it can be taken at home, it fits in with the national pandemic plan for respiratory viruses, and a course of therapy simply requires swallowing three tablets in the first 24 hours followed by one tablet every 12 hours for five days.

Back when Druggists compounded their own drugs we had one that produced his own pill for the Flu/Cold , strangely it had the same dosage schedule as this and it worked wonders. Called it Otto's Special and that was back in the 50's, maybe it was something similar but they sure worked.

I didn’t see zinc mentioned anywhere in the article. If HCQ is that effective in early stages of the disease, image how much greater would be its effect if zinc and an antibiotic were included in the protocol!

If they had not vilified HCQ treatment from day one we could have saved 100,000 lives.

Denial of this or any other promising drug is murder.

Neil Cavuto is evil.

HCQ should be OTC, and we all should have it (and Zinc) on hand for seasonal viral attacks.

Who knows how effective it is against common things like the cold, all the “flus”....pneumonia?

I’m skeptical of Big Farmah being truthful about this. It could decimate the industry.

This medicine should be given to at-risk people if they want it as soon as they get sick. Early detection is key to beating this thing.
White paper on Study done where HCQ and Zinc were used in outpatients EARLY in the disease. Shows up to 80% fewer people going to the hospital.
