Looking back at Iowa football’s 1918 game with no fans.
Game was actually played in spite of 3 prior student deaths from Spanish Flu and they kept the season going thereafter in spite of 5 more student deaths reported a day later.
Local health authorities had tried to block the game, but couldn't because the University was under military control! President Wilson-(ante-Antifa)'s War Department's "Student Army Training Corps" seemed to be the ruling authority. Somehow President Trump-(Devil incarnate) so far has missed taking similar steps.
Who needs football when you can watch the revolution in the streets?

Exactly - one white and one black. And yes, plenty of whites have consumed black culture and look at the results. I am not falling into any leftist trap by using the terms black and white culture. Those terms clearly identify the origins of the cultures. You may quibble over the terms I use, that is fine. I use the language I grew up with some 50+ years ago. I'm conservative. That means I am slow to change. What really matters is the values I hold. Those are also slow to change.

ESPN ruined college football.
The even ruined the PGA, like I'll spend $5.99/month to subscribe to ESPN+ to watch the first two hours of the PGA broadcast. The PGA should be castigated for allowing ESPN to cover this.
I had to look it up but apparently the power5 is all the biggest conferences: ACC, Big 10, Big 12, Pac 12, and SEC.

I’m guessing it would be Boomer Sooner based on my knowledge of my group’s likes. Even though they were our arch rivals in the past we all like OU. Crazy. Hearing rumors that Nebraska may play in the Big 12 this year. Maybe we can go back to where we belong.
Letting the pinhead Big 10 bureaucrats kill this is frustrating beyond measure. The kids want to play. Let them.

growing up as a sooner fan I always respected the rivalry with the huskers & hated to see them jump ship in the realignment.

Yeah, except I no longer care. My wife and I sacrificed to give our daughter a private conservative Christian primary and secondary education. All of that was destroyed by 4 years at my alma mater, which is now 65-35 female-male. Any fond feelings I had for my time there have been completely erased. I’ll never waste another second even thinking about how their damn football team is doing.
