Florida reported the lowest number of new COVID-19 cases since June on Monday.
With 4,247 new cases, the count is less than half of the new infections only two weeks ago on July 27.
A positive trend also is in people who need emergency care. Emergency department visits for COVID-like illness also declined from just two weeks ago with about 3,200 fewer visits.

I had heard testing had been largely suspending because of a storm. Is that still the case or are they back to normal testing levels across the state?

The numbers are guaranteed to be manipulated. A week or two ago they were claiming the greatest number of reported deaths ever. It appears the Department of Health was going over their past numbers and decided to call a bunch of deaths which had been previously claimed to be from something else Covid-19 deaths. I do not remember the exact numbers but it was something like 30 new deaths and 120 previous deaths totalling 150 for the day, but the headline and the story mentioned only the total... once again misleading the public.
Leading indicators like new cases and ED visits have been going down since the middle of July. Deaths are a lagging indicator are just now starting to go down.
As I recall, they did stop some testing sites a week or so ago when the hurricane/tropical storm was in the forecast.

if 100,000 tests yield 10,000 positive results, aka: cases, and 2,000 of these people get sick, and 200 of these people are hospitalized and 20 of these people die, and 10 of them are over 80 years old....is this really the plague it’s being made out to be?
a ‘spike in cases’ in and of itself isn’t the problem. if the same number of IQ tests were administered, there’d be a spike in confirmed morons.

The only numbers I’ve ever followed is the death numbers, even though I question their validity. But it’s all we have.
These tests are as faulty as they can get I have my tin foil hat on where these tests are concerned I have a hard time believing that kids have been fine all this time, NOW they want to open schools and kids EVERYWHERE are positive!! Gov. of Ohio tests positive BUT next day different test different kind of test and NEGATIVE!!! Something is rotten in Denmark where these tests are concerned!!
The deaths have been going down for longer than that. Excess deaths from all causes peaked in May. That is a statistic that is harder for the weasels to fake.
After the first two weeks the morons at the CDC new it was not a big deal...but could not say we need to change course....
Wait til school starts and they test kids and they have it but are not really sick..they will close the schools bet on it...
My wife was a first grade teacher...when the Asain flu went around half the class was out sick...they did not wear masks or social distance...it is now all BS
The elephant in the room that can never be discussed is that this pathogen wasn’t really anything to worry about in the first place. For political reasons they looked everywhere for it, finding it sometimes, simply making it up other times. This was all unnecessary. Every bit of it.
I don’t even care who tests positive regarding who I will hang around. I just assumed way back in early April that we would all be exposed. I just don’t think this thing is really all that deadly. Especially if you are not already old and sick.
