Looking ahead to the general election, U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., is calling for extending the period for states to choose presidential electors.
Rubio is championing a bill “to extend the federal safe harbor period for states to determine electors from December 8, 2020 to January 1, 2021 for this year’s presidential election” insisting it “would give states the flexibility needed in a pandemic to help ensure each and every legal vote cast is counted.” Rubio’s proposal would also have electoral college members cast their votes on January 2, 2021 instead of December 14.
Pointing to hostile powers–namely China and Russia–Rubio warned about foreign interference in the upcoming election.
“We cannot escape the pandemic-induced reality of increased mail-in voting, and the logistical challenges associated with it will be difficult for some states to resolve in the next couple of months,” Rubio insisted. “We should give states the flexibility to provide local election officials additional time to count each and every vote by moving the federal safe harbor deadline for states from December 8 to January 1.
“But it gets worse,” he continued. “Local election officials in critical swing states like Pennsylvania, which saw a 17-fold increase in mail-in ballots for its June primary, are warning that, absent changes, ‘there is no way anybody can responsibly call the presidential race in November.’
Beijing and other hostile foreign actors would throw their full weight behind a misinformation campaign, complete with falsified evidence, asserting that the results are rife with fraud and the election is in the process of being ‘stolen.’ They would use unassuming, but fake social media accounts to spread and magnify allegations that some mail-in ballots are being removed from the post office and destroyed, while others are falsified.

Anyone suggesting doing anything different than in all previous elections should be soundly beaten, disenfranchised, and dropped out of a plane into North Korea, sans parachute.
The Republican party had better come up with a primary candidate to go against lil Rubio because if not we will lose that seat.

Ted Cruz was not qualified either, Rush was gushing all over him too..I am still miffed about that.
The Constitution specifies the date the Electors are counted. The second Wednesday after the first Monday in December IIRC. Further, the Constitution foresees a situation occurring such a state may not have selected their Electors or otherwise does not present their Electors to the College. No problem! The Electoral vote quorum is based on the votes actually cast, not the total possible. Example, California has their vote by mail tangled up in mismanagement, recounts or court actions thus could not submit them to the College for tally. Their Electoral votes cannot not be counted in the Electoral quorum count.
He is enabling the revolutionary democrat plan to contest the election.

i disagree. states can if they wish count their votes just fine. there’s no cause for delays and delays would only provide a lot more opportunities for illegal vote rigging. just count the damned votes and be done with it

He remains a permanent U.S. resident who maintains Spanish citizenship. The connection is Spanish colonial (way back)— not US interests, and crosses over both parties.
To have him as the Chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee is the choice of....Mitch McConnell vs. Mark Warner (D-VA) who had Sen.Richard Burr (R-NC) as his... b—tch, and then our cleaning house intel apparat replaced Burr with Rubio. Which should not be a permanent thing.
The Romney wing with the sugar wing, with the illegal labor express— all fits the pattern of that kind of repub.

The Constitution charges Congress with establishing the day in which electors cast their votes.
He has got to go. Worst of the worst.
So? Congress already established a date for EC to vote.
Little Marco is aiding those rogue states that cheat-by-mail.
