Progressive Democrats roar in primaries, as 'Squad' beats back challengers.

'Squad' membership likely to grow following progressive primary wins

Minutes after progressive Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota was projected as the winner of a Democratic primary where she was vastly outraised by one of her more moderate challengers, fellow "Squad" member Rep. Rashida Talib took to Twitter to celebrate.

"Our squad is big!" wrote the congresswoman from Detroit, who defeated a formidable primary challenger in Michigan’s primary just a week earlier in another contest that like Omar's grabbed national attention.

This doesn't bode well for America's future.

Because "the squad" isn't the problem; its the army of idiots that elects them.

Way back in 1971, when I was in high school, my friends and I would talk about “scary stuff” in political movements. Whenever a friend would say something like, “People will never stand for that!” I would always say, “What you mean is that this generation would not stand for that.”

I said that because it was obvious to me that my generation was accepting all sorts of things that previous generations thought were abominable.

And the beat goes on...

It was 150,000 without the mail in, 200,000 with the mail in!! I would say we have about 350,000 voters that did not vote in the primary!! We have a GREAT BLACK candidate and I am NOT waving the white flag yet!! I have more faith in the American people than thinking that most would elect a SCUM like her she is paying her husbands company almost a million dollars a year out of campaign funds, she broke ALL immigration laws and she HATES America!! Her district had been decimated and there has been NO MOVEMENT to repair anything in two months we will see 70% of the district is white and the Asian community will NEVER vote for this SCUM!!!

I expect she'll be reelected by Putinesque margins. This state is moving left, the election of Keith Ellison to a statewide office is ample proof of that. Red Minnesota is a pipe dream that the GOP just can't stop chasing.

If you know any “moderate” or “centrist” Democrats out there time to get in their faces with a message, long and loud.

Your Grandpa’s Democrat Party DOES NOT EXIST ANYMORE!!!!!
It is now the Communist Party. Is THAT what you want??

You cannot change the mind of a leftist. Some Democrats and some Liberals are flexible. The leftist are hard wired and only bullets will rid America of them.

It did exceed GOP turnout.

The DFL had a number of high profile primaries, the biggest being the primary for 5th District US House. In other areas of the Mpls St Paul area, they had some heavily contested legislative primaries.

The GOP, with the exception of a few scattered contested state legislative primaries, really had nothing to vote for.

Not sure how to read the tea leaves on this yet.

Given the tolerance for lunacy and radicalism in this country the Squad will likely morph into a platoon before long.

The one thing to take from all of this is that The Squad and their new members represent solely urban really liberal districts. If Pelosi retired, her district would more than likely elect a new member of the Squad.

Many other Democrats know that the Squad is poison electorally in their districts. They may identify with some of what the Squad is doing but they’ll not ever wanna stand too close to them.

That isnt surprising. MN has always been and probably always will be a Dem stronghold. when i grew up there the DFL (Democrat Farm Labor) party owned the state and that was 50 years ago. Even then it was virtually Socialist. The difference between then and now is the DFL has morphed into an actual socialist party with the Somali population in the Twin Cities at the helm. The Scandinavian Minnesotans have been largely supplanted in leadership..

Their idea of flexibility is negotiating the timeline, not the outcome.

I’ve worked around lots of liberals. It is not possible to reason with them as they are immune to facts and logic.

The only way to deal with them is by displaying strength and resolve. Anything less gets no respect.

The only thing big on the “squad” are their arses. Left extremists are a minority in America.

Yes, they are, but these racially gerrymandered districts we have give them representation in the House where they can cause trouble, especially given that the media complicitly and fawningly cover their every move and utterance.

because “they work cheap”

Not just that. Untold billions flow to retail establishments from people with guaranteed government checks coming in. The more spent on EBT, the more gets spent at Walmart. I wonder how much telcos got from "obamaphones".

Hopefully the smaller communities and more moderate people will be shocked to their senses with all that has been going on in Minneapolis and other cities.
