>>>I think you should reply to post 32. Vape is a droplet.

It's not as big as a respiratory droplet. It's water vapor. It's 6.7 to 7.3 microns in diameter. A cough particle can be up to 450 microns. A drop that size can only travel several feet unless it is re-directed.

That's the point. Did anyone say it stops it all? No. It's a tool (like many of the people on this board who haven't taken the first science class since high school).

Within 2 weeks of Texas implementing the mask order - cases peaked and started to decline - the same thing in Florida and other places. It's a tool - not a cure.

It re-directs the heavier, more viral loaded particles so that they don't travel from someone who is infected (and may not know it) to an uninfected person.

It is NO DIFFERENT than how it works in the ER and keeps you safe from the germs of the surgeon. Funny how it works THERE but won't work for COVID.

Wonder why? - Because there is an agenda.

Listen to the President and stop undermining him.

Well, in your own words, if I am not coughing, the mask is doing nothing.

BTW bacteria are giants when compared to viruses. The smallest bacteria are about 0.4 micron (one millionth of a meter) in diameter while viruses range in size from 0.02 to 0.25 micron.

So are we trying to stomp out all bacteria and virus, or 'flatten the COVID curve'? Lots of hidden agendas at work, most of which are at the expense of our rights and liberties.

The president hasnt demanded we wear masks, so what am I listening for? How am I undermining him? How is this video undermining him?

“cases peaked and started to declin”

You really believe those political numbers? They’ll tell you anything to gain your submission and obedience. Those numbers have been proven fake.

They demand masks, you wear masks, they give you fake numbers to prove the masks were necessary. Gullible. Simply gullible.

Humidity of an exhaled breath is 41.9-91.0% and dependent on a lot of things including the atmospheric humidity. So up to about 10-60% of exhaled air won’t be in moisture droplets.

I suspect it also depends on the “humidity” of the mask. A brand new mask will be dryer than one that has been on your face for hours.

You are doing OK. Masks (that we can make or obtain), properly maintained and properly worn (and not fiddling with it), have some effective-ness, though not perfect.

I anticipate that the masks that I use, afford me a better chance of some protection from the SARS-2 virus (plus some chemical/mineral crystalization - usually the result of human saline, so to speak).

And, I anticipate that the masks that I use, afford me a relatively much better chance of some protection from the SARS-2 virus - when the SARS-2 virus is borne along with moist human exhaust vapor droplets.

Without masks available from my shop inventory, I would probably create my own mask from at least 4 layers of cotton T-shirt material. Use shoe laces for securing. And probably wear a bandana over that, as my "bug screen."

After wearing a mask

If home, I use a wash cloth with some rubbing alcohol and trace the boundary of where the mask was obviously in contact with my face. Because that "joint" is not perfect.

Disinfecting

I have been bathing the shop masks in sunlight. On dark days, I place the masks in a kitchen pot that is wide enough for the masks plus room for a tiny bowel in which I place some Hydrogen Peroxide. Put the lid on the pot and place the assembly in an oven for 1 hour at 160 deg F.

PS. In the following, I write “should,” because not all masks work perfectly.

A mechanical mask should work, because of some combination of its layers consisting of fibers, as a complex physical mesh composition -— all designed to cause intake, or outlet, air, to change directions more than once.

At, or near enough to, the change of direction for air . . . objects and particles “suspended” in the air, fail to make the change of direction, because of their mass/weight, and are caught by the fibers.

Some moisture build-up in a mask, because of a person exhaling moisture, may assist in capturing such fallout (failed to make a turn).

So please explain why I have to wear a mask if I’m not sick (coughing, sneezing).
