Senate Intelligence report finds no Russia collusion, FBI handling of probe 'flawed'

The report also concluded that one-time Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort was a 'grave counterintelligence threat'

The anticipated Senate Intelligence Committee report released Tuesday on Russian interference in the 2016 election found no collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.

The committee also found that the FBI’s handling of Russian threats to the election were “flawed,” and that the agency gave “unjustified credence” to allegations about President Trump's alleged ties to Russia that were included in the now-discredited dossier compiled by former British spy Christopher Steele.

The flaws were “based on an incomplete understanding of Steele’s past reporting record,” states the report, according to The Washington Post.

However, the bipartisan report by the committee found that Paul Manafort, who was briefly a Trump campaign manager, posed a “grave counterintelligence threat” due to his interaction with people close to the Kremlin.

The report also found extensive contacts between key campaign advisers and officials affiliated with Moscow’s government and intelligence services.

Manafort worked with a Russian intelligence officer “on narratives that sought to undermine evidence that Russia interfered in the 2016 U.S. election,” including the idea that Ukrainian election interference was of greater concern,” the report concluded.

It’s gonna be India and Communist China that interferes in the 2020 election. Both have a lot to gain with a Trump loss.

Not a word about it will be spoken in the media, including here.

So...Manafort was some kind of threat, and everything else was just a misunderstanding? Sounds like a whitewash to me.

A whitewash mostly written by Democrat staffers. No doubt.

Burr handed over the keys to the committee to Warner immediately after Trump won. Disgraceful.

The Senate Intelligence Committee, like the one horse shay, hobbles home just before dark. :^/

Another committee...calling itself “intelligence”. LOL! The deceptive, psychological arrogance of the elites on display. What an embarrassment for such a great republic. Greater men died on foreign battlefields for these creeps.

What a joke. They stand by the whole story except they say Trump wasn’t “colluding”. But they claim Russia was widely interfering when it was actually Ukraine, and England. And most criminal of all, the Senate Republicans say the FBI investigation was merely “flawed”. Not a criminal conspiracy, not sedition, not a deliberate coup attempt... just “flawed”.

Those FBI guys were just good-hearted patriots trying to keep us safe.

Such crap

What Brave men.

Don’t forget Warner was using a Spy App to talk to Russia, and said they missives could never be known by USA.

These are worthless and weak sleazy politicians on the take.

Meanwhile, Senate Republicans, many of them, will be known as "the Washington Generals". Oops, their shorts were pulled down by the other team. Again.

Heard on the hourly news earlier today they found “unprecedented contact” between Trumps campaign and Russian officials. No mention of “collusion” either way. WOR radio news in NYC.

966 pages. The report is troubling, so far,(43 pages in) a lot of redactions, and, because it mimics things I am pretty sure were proven as false or are not as they are portraying it.

For instance, the following is right out of the Mueller report:

“The Committee was unable to reliably determine why Manafort shared sensitive
internal polling data or Campaign strategy with Kilimnik”.

The internal polling data was about Pres.Trump prior to the Repub convention and before he was the nominee.
It was useless after the convention.

Also, they still claim Russia stole the podesta emails. That was the supposed”Fancy Bear” phish in March 2016.
“The GRU subsequently transferred the Podesta emails to WikiLeaks, which began publicly releasing the emails on October 7, 2016.”

I am getting bad vibes about all this. This report was supposedly bi-partisan.
Read pages 945 to the end. The additional comments by the RATs do not make this seem bipartisan.

Warner and his Democrat staff have run the committee for the entirety of Trump’s POTUS. Rubio has made no effort to steer it in a different direction.

Agreed but as we saw Warner had the goods on Burr as I’m sure his slimy stock trades probably go back a few years and the Dems knew it

It’s pretty devious what Burr did and Rubio does. They say one thing that is supportive of POTUS while they release a “bipartisan” report filled with garbage that the Dems will use to attack POTUS. That would never happen in a million years if the shoe was on the other foot.
