I feel that Abbott has been walking a fine line in a State that isn’t as red as it once was. He opened up a lot earlier than some others. He refused to close back down when cases rose. I expect that if a simliar Audit reveals similar results in Harris, Baexer or Dallas counties (which I expect) He’ll completely open and make mask optional. Until then he is preventing the Karen vote from replacing a Republican Senator.

I have a coworker who came down with it. She was particularly vulnerable due to some medical procedures, so she and her husband have stayed in the house since this thing first appeared in the States. Everything coming in was disinfected.

Somehow, she caught it in July. She said it was like a nasty case of the flu. Not a REALLY BAD case, though.

I was in the hospital for some surgery. On the night before they released me they moved me to another room. When I saw the room number, I asked if that wasn’t the COVID ward. They said it was.

The only thing I can come up with is that allowed them to count me as a COVID patient and they could get federal money for it.

The Covid-19 scams are incredible.

Fortunately, some of our institutions are figuring out the realities and developing their own strategies based on their data and skills/needs.

We belong to the biggest HMO on the West Coast, and we have watched their Covid-19 policies evolve from grim based on B$ from California and ???!

They basically shut down their hospitals and clinics for about a month+ after 13 March.

Then, if your spouse/child needed care, you couldn’t go into the hospitals or clinics.

It had evolved into dropping your family off and you staying in a watched area or staying in your vehicle.

My wife went into the hospital yesterday with me as the out patient for a same day surgery.

They did an auto temp check as we stood on the X markers in the entry and then the hall inside.

Another auto test was done in the hall. Everytime we mentioned it, we got an evasive answer.

Then, we went to the clinic exam rooms for that department. No other tests or questions were asked about me or my wife

I had the procedure done, and afterwards, they wheelchaired me along side my wife. We went to the exit and they left.

She pushed the wheelchair 50’ to the garage, and we left the compound.

Not a single question was asked how we felt and 0 Covid ?’s
from the time we entered to when we left.

6 weeks before that I had to pick up a non mailable rx for this procedure.

I parked in the special RX parking places and used my cell phone to ask permission to come in. I had a temp check before coming into the building and went into a holding area. I could see my photo on the tv monitor. We were watched monitored the whole time.

When my rx was ready, I went into the pharmacy’s real waiting area, picked up and paid for my rx.

The difference yesterday after 6 weeks was incredible.

If you were to click on the "disclaimer" link in that paragraph, it goes to the government site with the data...and the various warnings regarding the reliability of the data.

Click on the "Collin County" tab, and it has that big red graphic with the warning on the data, just the same.

Yeah, you’re right to be skeptical. A Google search doesn’t come up with anything to confirm these numbers.

With the exception of the elderly one killed by the governor of NJ, we know of no deaths from Covid 19.

We know of 8, who died during the shutdown. Loneliness may have been the biggest killer. When you are in your late 70’s or 80’s and can’t see, hug, or talk to your loved ones, you might just give up.
