Yeah, he was an inexperienced pilot. If he wanted to attempt that flight against the advice of more experienced fliers, that would be one thing. But he took his wife and sister-in-law along too.

America doesn’t need political dynasties. We don’t need any more Harrisons, Roosevelts, Kennedys, Bushes, Clintons, or Trumps for that matter. The off-springs may be worthy souls, but with a population of 330 million to chose from, they shouldn’t get a boot-up for the family names or relationship.
I saw JFK Jr. once in NYC back in the 1990s. The one thing that stood out to me is that his head seemed enormously out of proportion to the rest of his body. I remember thinking at the time: “I didn’t know someone entered a horse named JFK Junior in the Belmont Stakes.”
